When I first had this set up, everything was working beautifully. I had transfereed probably a gig and a half of data and things were looking great. But then it hung, and the file kept starting from the beginning, and going nowhere. Now the only time I can get a file transfered at all is if I reboot my machine, reboot the xbox, and then begin the transfer - and even then I cannot get an entire file to transfer without this problem repeating itself.

Any thoughts on how to correct this problem?

Maybe your E partition is full........?

If not, try Filezilla as your FTP client.
Taco John
It's definitely not full... But that's what I'm endeavoring to do. I've got a 2TB hard drive here waiting to go in it, but if I can't even fill up the 30gb that are available on my E: drive, I'm not about to go through the worry of dropping a 2TB drive in there.

Truthfully, my confidence is rocked right now. I'm wondering if I should just use it as a wireless station and drop the 2TB drive in my machine and network it.

BTW... Thanks for the Filezilla tip. I'll give it a shot.

UPDATE:
No dice... In fact, interestingly enough, it hung at the near exact same file size... (91,750,400)

It seems to always hang at this file size, no matter what file I try to send over. And when I select "resume" the thing just basically pretends like the entire file is loaded, and quits.

I wonder why it would consistently hang at the 90MB mark using two different FTP clients...

30 GB on E isn't standard - standard is around 4GB on E:\. How have you got the partitions configured? Are you sure the spare isn't in F:\ ? It still sounds as though E:\ is full........

I have a sick feeling that I'm going to end up looking like an idiot here. laugh.gif

I dont think fatx accepts brackets rename the file without them... bet that works.

Though on second look it might. lol I'm an idiot lol. Thought it didnt take special characters

ok kinda the same thing was happening to me, my e was not as big but that most likly isnt the problem. what i did was just unplug my router hooked the xbox strait to the computer, whent into the xbox looked at the network settings, looked to see if it was static, it was then i changed my dns to 192.168.0.3 my ip for the xbox was 102.168.0.4. I then went to my network settings in my computer and changed the ip to 192.168.0.3. this allow the xbox to directly relate ur computer as a server then click open ur ftp program click quick connect if it is flashfxp the for ip type 192.168.0.4 user name xbox pass xbox. this should come up very fast now just transfer what you want i was getting speeds of about 8 to 10 mb/s. Not to terribly fast but it was only taking about 5 minutes to transfer a 3 gig file. I was thinking about upgrading the ide cable to ata133 and see if the speeds go up even higher. I have a 2tb drive working good just remember when you have to transfer xbpartitioner1.0 and 1.1. run 1.0 first then 1.1 will work if u dont 1.1 will just freeze every time if u have any questions just ask
