There have been a ton of hits on what happened to Mediaicons.org. No one knows, or is saying, which is a real shame. The old utility which some call Stylebuilder and others call TiltedBox lives on, but part of the process required files from the MediaIcons website, which are gone. This little post will tell you how to fix the 404 errors that result.

First, be sure to use the program correctly.

1. OPEN -->Tilted Box XML File (Or the linux/Mac equiv)

2. You will need the following two files. RIGHT-CLICK /SAVE LINK AS on both of them, putting them in your StyleBuidler Folder (mine is sitting at C:\Stylebuilder).. (NO DOT save those images, they will be too small, be sure to save LINK as or TARGET.. If the file name has "_thumb" you've done it wrong! laugh.gif

3. Now.. Look for the TWO "UNDERLAY" tab/function deals, right click on them and edit them, telling them to look in your Stylebuilder folder where you placed the icons from above.

4. Click File/Save and assign a new name, perhaps "TiltedBox NEW" to save your changes.

5. Select 'Choose Input' and select your 'raw' file.. It should be a regular DVD/game case image (meaning front and back are both on one image, back side to the left, front side to the right).

6. Click Do Transform and watch and revel at the coolness..

7. Finally, click the Save Output and put it where it's needed smile.gif

When it's done, you'll have something like: IPB Image

Ugh, I wish I would have known about this before... I've been trying to find non photoshop info on this for ages. Thanks so much. For those who never had Stylebuilder to begin with (like me):

Thanks to whoever made stylebuilder, and PrimusZa1 on the gbatemp.net forums (via my google skills) for uploading it or providing the link.

This was so easy. just go to a site like http://www.cdcovers.cc, change the sectionin Cover Search to XBOX, and type in the game. If it's there, click on it. below, there should be options, like front, cd, etc. you will need one that has front as an option. hover over front to see if it is the **full front and back cover** you like, and if it is, click it, and right-click, save as the picture that comes up. the resulting file will be larger than that, so don't worry. use the file in stylebuilder, and you'll have your icon in no time!

Here are my contributions for the lazy/googlers: driver - parallel lines, and tony hawk underground 2.

Many of the other XBOX game icons can be found at http://fancyxbox.info/index.php?doc=1&secao=xicons

Thanks ExitRooster.

OK I worked out how to use this to make my own and it's pretty cool, plus I'm getting some very high quality by using scans from CDCovers.cc However, how you you get the green outline edge for the DVD case like the ones on that old site? I know it's only a minor thing and I could probably live without it, certainly for the increase in quality but any help would be very appreciated. Google was useless.

Anyone please? I'd love to get this working right. I'm guessing to get the green box effect it's just a template of some kind?

I also wish to thank ExitRooster for a great guide here, many thanks.

It's ok I worked out how to do it myself. If anyone else wants to know then all I done was take the black boxunderlay image that ExitRooster posted here and painted it green, however MS Paint wouldn't do it as it couldn;t deal with the transparencies so I had to download a pain program called Paint.net (which is where you can find it and download for FREE).

This done the job no worries and now I have a green DVD box underlay and it looks superb. Now I can do ALL my cases in higher resolution to the ones over at Fancy Xbox. happy.gif cool.gif
