Hello.. I've been running my Xbox with evo-x as the dashboard for quite a long time. I decided to upgrade my version of XBMC and make it my dashboard. I used Auto Installer Deluxe v 4.52 and did the one click install setup with XBMC dash. Now when I boot my Xbox the original MS Dash comes up. I tried using SlaYer's EvoX Auto-Installer v2.7 (which I'd used with success before) and I still get the MS Dashboard when I boot my Xbox. Any suggestions or ideas as to what I might have done wrong?

Yes. I'd guess that your Xbox was softmodded and didn't have shadow C, and AID has overwritten the softmod files on your C partition. If that is the case then your Xbox isn't modded any more, and you need to re mod your Xbox, but this time remember the two lessons you have learned:

1. Use a softmod with mandatory shadow C support - Krayzie 1.1.1 or Kingroach NDURE 3.1
2. Don't use AID on a softmodded Xbox

I have a Xbox V 1.0 modded with Xecuter 1.0. I've had this Xbox for 8 years give or take.

Any suggestions from anyone ?

i think it's the same chip i have, it only boots C:\xboxdash.xbe or the DVD xbe

use the XBMC shortcut.xbe renamed to C:\xboxdash.xbe make sure the config file points to a dash

IE: C,E,F;\XBMC or Dash



use any boot disk to enable FTP



you can use that disk to install Evox as the dash and then run XBMC

Would it benefir be to have my xbox re-modded to a newer chip to receive bios updates or is this even possible? I'm having trouble running scripts through xbmc and I'm thinking it might be because of my chip. do you have the same problem?

the chip i have can't be reflashed

i have a switch it stays off all the time and it boots the softmod (softmod does everything and more IE: loads .iso files)

the only time it's on is to boot a bootdisk to setup a new HDD
