Full Version: Which Bios Supports 128mb Ram? Softmod/no Modchip

Hello. I just installed extra ram to my xbox v1.0 but it's not showing up in XBMC, it only shows 64mb. I double checked and made sure every joint was soldered and still nothing. I ran the memory check program and it did a test up to 128MB but could not allocate over 64MB so I thought it was a bios issue. Then I googled and read that stock bios does not detect memory over 64mb. I read about flashing the TSOP, bridged the 2 points, loaded up EvolutionX and flashed cromwell 2.4 but the dash still only shows 64mb.... I then loaded X2 5035 and it still only shows 64MB.....

Does anyone know for sure which bios supports 64MB? One that doesn't require a modchip.

Do you have the latest build of XBMC?
Also, try loading up X-dsl and see if it registers the extra ram
on the loader screen.

Any other suggestion? I actually tried that already with gentoo when I had cromwell. Cromwell loader showed 64MB, I booted up Gentoo, free -M and it reports 64mb.

edit: i haven't tried the new build of xbmc with x2 5035 yet. still using the last stable release from early 2009. that one doesn't support 128mb?

If cromwell says 64mb, that is what you have. You have some pads that are not making proper connection.
