Finally going to flash my newer xbox that's been sitting around. Is the CK3 Pro (probe/power connector) the bestt solution at this point? I have no issues cutting tracing (I've built hacked arcade sticks/joysticks in the past) and plan on using the conductive glue. Besides the CK3 and glue would there be anything else I would need? I've flashed the Sammy 25/28's and Liteon first gen so I'm not a total n00b. Just want to be sure!

All you need is any old x360 power adapter. Doesn't have to be the CK3
You can even use the 360 to power the drive if you are very careful.
Conductive glue is really lame and if you can't solder i somehow don't think conductive glue is going to make it any simpler. If you realy don't want to solder maybe you would want to try the clip on solution from team x.

Here is the tutorial i wrote for doing lite-on. It's very popular.

BoXXDr method for complete LO FW Dump

i can vouch for BoxxDr method. Soldering isn't really that hard.. everything takes practice..

If you use xbox power supply make sure the AV cable is plug'd in. The xbox has shut down on me in the past because of no AV cable. You would hate it shutting down on you during a Write or something..

I agree the boxxdr tutorial is the way to go, it gets noobs up to speed

I did my first with the boxxdr method, as did many, and I use it to this day

people are still effing up the MRA way,

the boxxdr method allows it to be done easily

the key to success is

dont clear off the insulation (the green) where it is not needed,

cut away from "101" it helps ensure that 101 is still connected to the trace after repair

flux is your friend

use wire you are comfortable with, 30g kynar should be good for noobs

There is a big difference between being able to use conductive glue and being able to solder. I don't solder because those points are way to small for someone of my soldering skills. Conductive glue is piss easy to apply, and it works if you give it 30 mins to dry. I've never had 1 drive come back to me. Sucks that you need to wait but I only do about 1 drive a week. So yeah its a lame way to do it, but to be honest I would rather use conductive glue and have working xbox360 drive then possibly wreck a drive or pay through the nose for LT Clip. Different strokes for different folks.

Oh yeah if you using conductive glue you will need to do the straight cut. Be careful not to wreck pad101:
