Alright, so I tried searching and found other similar (but slightly different) questions, but since they where just slightly different they weren't a lot of help.
I have a softmodded xbox with the stock hdd, and my friends unmodded hdd is fried. Can I simply switch the hdd from my softmodded box to his unmodded box, then 'swap' it to the new hdd?
Any ideas/info is greatly appreciated. I'd prefer not having to install a mod chip.

if you have a STOCK xbox never modded with a bad HDD
you will need to get the EEPROM data\file
or install a modchip (long enought to get the EEPROM then remove)

Hey thanks for the fast reply!
That is correct, the xbox with fried HDD is stock. How would I go about getting the EEPROM data/file?
