I have fixed everything on this xbox 360 but the dvd drive. I have narrowed it down to a bad pcb in the original dvd drive. The original pcb gets no power wont eject or anything.

I have another of the same drive so i swapped pcbs at first and it gave it no power. Then I went back and tried the new drive with the new pcb and it ejects and even plays dvds but wont play real games.

I plan on modding the drive after the I get it to work normal but do I still need the dvd key if i am going to mod the drive? What can I do? Is there another way to get the new drive to work if the old pcb doesnt work?

The pcb probally gets shorted out somewhere. Did you solder the cuttraces?

And what drive are we talking about? You need the key from the old pcb and put it on your new one in order to play games.

What type of DVD drive is the original broken one?
