i think the default streamcast is set to 12 seconds to log on to station.
i have mine set to 03 seconds ... and if station is off-line ... i don't have to wait ... I just move on to station that's working!

P.S. I should clarify it a little .... it's like fishing!

I hit a radio station (and 80 percent of the time it plays right away) ... and if no response after 3 seconds... i move to next station ... if it doens't move ... i know it's getting it ...and BAM ...the station plays in a few seconds.
If it moves I just move on and do the same! Cuts down on those "time out connections" that make you wait 10-15 seconds (i still get them but not as often as the 12 second delay setting... the slow connection message is super fast and I'm free to scan for working station)
In the past , with the 12 second delay ...it was a pain... i'd wait and wait, then get Connection time out and wait and wait ... and it was like Russion Roulette... changing stations ... all that WAIT time! ... But my method cuts the time by alot. And I find I'm switching stations alot more so i can explore all types of stuff ... which i was avoiding doing in the past.
Works for me! Hope that clarifies my method.
You find the streamcast setting towards the bottom of the config file.
