I flashed the DG-16D2S from virgin to LT. All was fine ...
I jtag'd with FreeBOOT 032. All was fine ...
I have all originals and have made backups of each one. After flashing drive and jtaging, all originals and all backups played fine for a while (appx 4 months).
After a while the drive would read disks sporadically. Originals and/or backups, drive would read sometimes and not read sometimes (most of the time drive would not read anything but seemed to have more success with backups). I use all Verbatim DL for backups, run thru abgx, then burn with XBC (for a few years now).
So I have a DG-16D2S that I do not have the original firmware or any files for. I also have a GDR-1320L from a couple years ago. I do not have the original flash or any files for it but I know that I wrote a iX 1.5 (at least) to it a while back. Drive works afaik.

I want to get key from DG-16D2S and inject into GDR-1320L firmware. I followed the Jungle Flasher 0.1.70 Beta tutorial (specifically the step in the flow chart where it asks if your DG-16D2S is flashed with LT and if so see note 1 and/or 2) and it tells me that the only way to get a full firmware dump is to use the original MRA 2 trace cut mod. No problem ...
I perform the mod with no errors ... no bridged solder joints, no grounding or shorting, drive is detected after refreshing drive info (just like in tutorial). I turn off the drive, flip switch to allow 3.3V to inject into ckt at bottom most trace (cut trace per tutorial), then click Intro/Deice ID. The pop up tells me "Vendor Into Failed" and I click yes (per the tutorial). Then I power on the drive and get "Re-sending Vendor Intro:....................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................... etc etc etc Then failed.
I get 3.3V at top point on switch and can trace that to point on PCB where second leg of switch is connected and get 3.3v there.
Also the M1319L chip is burning slap up! It's hot as hell when I touch it with my finger ... not good. It's 2.5V coming out and 2.5V on third point on pcb. When I had the drive together, after flash, and before I even opened the metal case the drive would click twice right after powering on the console. These clicks I noticed after drive wouldn't read any disks ...

I have the DVD key for the broken DG-16D2S I got from Xell in text (copy and paste) format and all the dumps from xell ... config, kv, etc ...
So how would I use the DVD key (in text format) from the broken drive and insert that DVD key into the
GDR-1320L to give me a drive that works with my console?

if it is jtagged, you don't need your drive to be honest. aside from that, use jungle flasher to flash what ever drive you put in it, all you have to do is spoof your key to your firmware.

Yep, it's simple...Hook your Hitachi up, get it into Mode B, click "Manual Spoof", enter your DVD key and change OSIG to be that of your Liteon. Click OK to test then carry on if that's successful.

EDIT: As shaggy says though, why are you still using discs with a JTAG? I'd extract everything to an external HD and use Freestyle Dash to play them from there. Much quicker and quieter and you can then sell your drive on Ebay.

EDIT2: Why did you do the MRA on your Liteon if you've got a JTAG...you got the key from Xellous!! I guess you realised this much later..

I thought I needed the firmware dump for some reason ... but I see now I don't thank you!
So I manually spoofed it and all disks are telling me to put them in a xbox 360 console.
What did i miss?

I put xexmenu cd in and it plays tho so that's good.

run fsd2 on your jtag, back up your games to your pc, use iso2god to convert your games to a god container and it even ftp's them to your 360 hdd. one a god, u can manually ftp them by opening windows explorer and going to the address ftp://192.168.1.xxx/Hdd1/Content/0000000000000000/ (replace the xxx) and copying the god folder there.

Not sure exactly how I managed to flash it before with 1.5 ...
What I did to fix it was use the JungleFlasher that was posted above and grabbed ix1.6 for the GDR1320L. I used the manual spoof option (on the main flash screen there was no flash loaded in the source spot). I manualy selected the ix1.6 to be sure, deleted key and pasted the key I wanted to use, and selected to spoof as the 16D2S.
So now I have DVD functionality back. Works with every game I have (all originals and backups).
I loaded about 6 games as GOD packages for right now to see if it worked. Works great ... launch thru nxe smile.gif

I know this should go in another thread but with iso2god 1.3.3 when I use the no padding option I don't get the xex file and some other missing files. If I use full padding and/or partial padding (crop) I get everything but I didn't notice much of a space savings between full padding and crop ... what's the deal with that?
Not bitching ... just saying ...
Thanks iateshaggy and Buzzcut!

full chops 2 gigs of padding out of the game. no need for an xex, if put in content/000000000000 then it shows up in your games folder.
