I recently had to reformat my pc and have been experiencing connectivity issues between my pc and xbmc on my softmodded xbox ever since.

Now when I try to connect to media content on my pc using either of two soft-modded gen I xbox's I get the following screen:

"Lock preferences for smb://(computer name)/"
"username"
"Enter Password"

To my knowledge, I have no username or password requirements set up for my router or pc.

This never showed up prior to the reformat and I never had to enter any passwords for my xbox to connect to media on my pc in the past. I have started file sharing via WMP and have clicked allow for both xbox's. I am running Windows XP w/ SP3 installed.

For the record, I can still stream video from my pc to my Xbox 360 (unmodded) using the built in file sharing software with no issues.

Any ideas on what I am missing?

What version of XP? Pro? Home?

Home. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Under Home, all share access is through the Guest account, so the first step would be to make sure that's not turned off.
