Hey all,

Jtagged my 360, dont have a spare hdd lying around for it. want to use a spare 500gb external usb drive.

Not sure how to get it formated??? it will only do upto 16gb via the normal memory option.?

What am I missing?

Cheers,

find an app that will format the drive to fatx on your computer and then reconnect it

You can't use a USB drive as standard 360 storage. You can access it, store games and be able to run programs, but only through XeXMenu, FreeStyleDash, or the like. I don't believe there's presently any way to store game saves on an external USB drive.

Also, the external drive needs to be FAT32 or HFS+ for the 360 to be able to write to it.

so whats my best option?

I got xexmenu running from the cd.

got the latest freeboot on there too.

Still a bit noobish obviously, so trying to work out what is the best setup for it.

I do have a spare HDD case from a stuffed 20gb drive. should I just stick a hdd in that? bit of waste tho. got spare external drive just sitting here sad.gif

o well.

If you guys could give me you thoughts or ideas that would be great thanks.

what are the implications of using my 120gb from my retail live xbox?
