Seriously though, i would get a new motherboard and be done with it.
Even i you replace that capacitor it most likely wont work( you never know).

That's not a blown capacitor. It's a capacitor that cought fire. The heat melted the wires together that go to the gameports. I have seen a lot of bad things already, but I have never seen it that bad. The corrosive inners of that capacitor probably splashed on the shielding at a high temperature causing the corrosion.

Very likely, the pcb will be damaged as well, and the solderings will be corroded. Sometimes, things look worse than they are. You could just remove that capacitor, clean up the pcb, and try to power it up (without that melted gameport wires connected.) If it doesn't boot anymore, I would go for another mobo as well.

Just make sure all those black particles from the capacitor are removed from the pcb. They are usually conductive and can cause shorts.

Even if it still works, you will probably never be able to remove the burning smell from it.

regards.

The box was flashing green before i removed the capasitator, now it is dead, so i assume i broke the circuit, i havent tried to bridge it yet though. What is the spec of the burned cap?

If i move the chip to a new motherboard, do i need to reinstall the bios?

only if its going from a non-1.6 to a 1.6 (or vice versa) otherwise no

There are some BIOS types that won't transfer between other models, but they're far less common then the 1.6 issue.
