Ok I have a ps3 model # CECHH01 almost all suppliers say it needs the kem-410aca drive and laser. However, when I removed the drive it had what looked identical to the kem-410aca drive but it had a kem-400aaa laser in it. The track system said kem-400aca. I can not find such a thing. If I search ebay for cechh01 blu-ray drive they all show the kem-410aca. I can not find anything that says kem-400aca. The board will not connect to a kem-400aaa drive and the track system will not connect to a kem-410aca. I am afraid of ordering the wrong drive and not being able to return it. Has anyone come across this? What drive do I need?

Was the ps3 ever opened before you bought it? A lot of times if you buy a broken ps3 off of ebay they will mix and match parts to make a "full ps3". I have never heard of the CECHH01 having anything other than a kem-410aca drive assembly. It sounds like the drive was swapped and if that was the case it will never play ps3 games.

That can not be it the board will not match up with either a kem-410aca or the kem-400aaa. I have both drives here and neither will work I have no idea what to do from here.
