Hi,
i have a XBOX (with a thomson DVD i think) and my Hard drive is fried.
And i want to put a new hard drive into the xbox...
(and no i dont have a eeprom.bin backup , no modchip and no eeprom reader.... sad.gif )
SO i have a IBM 15GB Hard drive (with the dash file into the drive ) and when i put the drive into the XBOX i got a error 5 (drive unlocked....)
So i found a eeprom.bin on the internet (we never know ..) i edited the eeprom.bin serial number and i put my xbox serial No. with liveinfo...saved the eeprom and i putted the file into xboxhdm, and locked the drive...

and now i got a error 6 :S
Can i fix my problem without modchip, softmod, eeprom reader ?

Thanks!

And sorry for my english...im french
Heimdall
It's not the serial number you need, it's the drive locking key, and that only exists on your eeprom on the motherboard. You need an eeprom reader or a chip.
skfunnyboy
So i cannot get it without the reader or the chip?
Heimdall
Correct.
skfunnyboy
mmm..ok
and can i break the console with a eeprom reader ( homemade)?
Heimdall
No. Not unless you do something really stupid with it, and that's unlikely. You can buy them on eBay, or build your own.
