FreeStyle Dash (FSD) WIP Update

From teamfsd.com:
So we have been very busy with FSD, i would say we have done nearly a complete re-write. A lot of things won't be seen outright but will be noticed in stability.
To get a started the biggest issue with FSD was constant read and write to disk for everything, checking if files exist and so on. It caused a lot of overhead and slowed things down.
So first step to new system is we changed settings and content to run inside an SQL Database and use SQL for all these functions. This has increased speed and decreased read and write requests to disc which is huge. This also meant all settings now had to be configurable in dash as we won't have a config file to edit.
Another major issue people had was content scanning, it was to slow and we couldn't do anything while it was scanning.
We have sped up scanning dramatically but also we have caused it to be dynamic. SO if you open your game list and it's still scanning you will see the items get added to the list as they complete. This is a huge improvement on past implementations. To be honest, except on initial scan you probably won't even notice though cause it's that fast.
Now we have also added a lot of new features, i am not even sure i remeber them all. For starters though here is a quick list. * Xlink / Kai client. * TitleUpdate management Gamelist has multiple viewing styles now * dual pane file browser * HTTP Server(site you can find info and lists about your xbox) * FSD Plugin A plugin is being developed for FSD to allow multi disc support as well as trainers and such. This is being done as side along and will be released, and information given as it become pertinent and stable.
How would you download an update offline? Team FSD's site has it for download, unless you're talking about a newer update. I think newer stuff is WIP.

I downloaded the one they had there (Had to register<on the link provided ala XS news>) and got an older (previous newest) version which is exactly the same name and filesize as the old..
My understanding is that there are two SVN that FSD 2.0 downloads on. One is for development I think, I can't try it from an online JTAG untill I get home

FSD is great even at the current build. Looking forward to the update, hopefully with more of the features available/unlocked. Xlink client will be sweet. Thanks Team-FSD

Did they fix it so it doesn't show up in your games played and achievement areas? I had to restore my profile a few times while trying 2.0 because of this.

All homebrew modifies your profile and is bannable. Just because it doesn't show up in games played or achievements doesn't matter. The titleid is still added in your profile.

Freestyle dash is one of the best things to do with your jtag 360, even 1.20 is badass. Keep up the good work team freestyle. Everyone that can help the Freesyle team should, its the best thing going for the jtag xbox's right now. Can't wait for kai support!!!

The feature at the very top of my wish list is some sort of auto title update downloading. I see they mention something to do with updates in the notes, so hopefully it's something like that. Would be a godsend.
Gotta say I love the idea of not having to edit a config file as well

I had never donated for anything on the internet before, but I can honestly say I tossed these guys some money for their great work.
Eagerly awaiting their release.
I appreciate the hard work they do. But I hate having to wait so long between releases. I'm not rushing them. I would just like to be able to test the different builds as they progress. Thanks again to the FSD Team.

they said they did almost everything from scratch...again.

so after next release we can hope weekly builds or so..since the hard work is done.
they HAD to do this because now it's gonna be so much faster loading stuff and...xlink
