I have decided to use my original xbox as a media center.
I am running unleash x, and have just updated my XBMC.
I downloaded 2.0.1 fat final t3ch from xbins. I dont know if I should have downloaded slim... or..?
Now, I was told to use the updater script to update to the latest build, but I dont have the updater script included in my XBMC...
Also, how do I connect XBMC to my network?
I was looking on lifehacker there was some guide there and XBMC looked amazing, it would retrieve movie info from imdb album art from w.e website etc etc...
I need help...

That's an old build, and the updater doesn't work. Google XBMC4Xbox nightly builds.

I am downloading the 30709 build, I assume thats the latest?
I'll install it and use it, now how would I go about sharing my media with my xbox?

30710 is the latest.
To share media from your PC, you share the folder(s) on your PC, then on your Xbox you pick music (or videos, depending on what sort of media), then select "Add Source", and browse for your server.

I've selected upnp but my xbox just freezes...
Do I need to configure something on my comp to allow media to be shared to my xbox?

UPNP only works if you have a UPNP server on your network, and even if you do the XBMC UPNP client seems a bit unstable at the moment, so turn it off for the time being. Share the folders on your PC - right click, then follow your nose - the exact detail depends on which version of Windows you are using, but look for Sharing, or have a look under properties.

I shared my downloads folder, but I dont think that did anything because I can browse all my files, that are on my PC (after I went into sharing settings and set allow all)
It seems to be working now. Now to read some guides etc and download some nice looking skins
