I've done a few JTAG kernel upgrades on different boards in the past always going through Xell (then converting to) FreeBoot to get the current revs functional. However I have a new (old) box and wanted to bypass several iterations of the process.

Does anyone know if you can go from nand-dump to 12611-patched without the interim steps? (ie nandpro patching portions then writing back, then patching that image with new image)

I've searched for tut's here and on other well used boards and no one addresses it.

There's no way to JTAG hack a console without installing Xell/Xellous along the way because that's the only way to get your CPU key.

Once I've done the Xell/SMC hack, I should be able to go right up to 12611, tho right (without stopping at 9199)

Once you have a full backup of your NAND and your CPU key, you can install whatever hacked kernel you want at any time.
