I've got this PS3 that's overheating and crashes after about 40 min. So I've been waiting for some 555 pulse generators to mod the fans but while I wait for them I wanted to have some fun:



I've got the xbox 360 fans hooked to an adjustable power supply 3-15V. If you try this your adapter needs to be at least 800mA. Runs super cool at 12V. The bottom used to be roasting hot after 10min. Now the bottom is as cool as anything. Had it running for over 4 hours, cool and no problems.

That looks so ugly I would never do that haa

Although if it gets the job done then go for it although If I were you I would make it look stock.
