Hi, hoping u guys can help out once again, lol. I was raiding through my spares boxes and came across my old xbox m/b. I then got thinking i may use this to build a xbmc setup in a new case but remembered i had no HDD Key to install a new HDD.

Not sure which version it is (1.3 maybe) but was wondering is there any other way to get to the key other than a mod chip???

Is it possible to flash my working softmodded xbox's tsop and perhaps hotswap the two so i could flash the spare m/b tsop too. Sounds risky but i've done similar with a pc that had a bad bios flash but had the same bios manufacturer as mine.

I have a softmodded 1.4 if that would help matters at all.

You can't hotswap a TSOP - it's soldered to the motherboard!

You need a chip or an eeprom reader.

Sorry, my mistake. i actually was thinkin that when i looked at the board again, lol. Oh well, a good excuse to build the eprom reader.

Cheers for the reply tho.
