Okay, so I know I am new here but I am looking to write a memory dumping xex. It will work by accepting commands remotely from my computer via sockets. Now I know how to write the computer program, but I am a little bit shaky on sockets, if anyone could point me to any examples or post a code example of how to send/recieve commands that'd be jizztastic. Anyways, thanks ahead of time biggrin.gif

check the link i posted a few threads down. first you will need to create an unencrypted socket

http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=726755

and some winsock tutorials here

What languages are you guys using? I'd be interested in offering any help I can.

Being a CS major, and recently covering sockets in a good amount of detail, piqued my interest in this as well.

Using c++ for this, its all almost identical to the windows API

What im trying to implement is remote debugging tools for the console. can see it takign a long time, but is some good windows based tutorials so hopefully they shouldnt be too hard to port across.

yeah my client side tools is fairly poor as well, really cant be bothered to write a GUI for it, will just have everything hardcoded in that until the console side is properly functional.... figured the GUI would be trivial, just not very fun to implement

The only thing I still want to fix console side is my XB guide doesn't work. I am on 12611 and whenever I press the guide button it freezes my console.

Figured I would check in and see how the project was coming along. Debugging on a retail would be pimp.
