Does anyone know if there are any drivers for the wireless 360 controller to be used on the pc with the charge wire and not to use the wireless receiver?

I wonder why no one has came up with the driver if it hasn't been done yet...

No one has come up with a drive because it requires an RF receiver. It's not like you can connect any old device to a computer with a driver if you don't have the hardware.

I used to play Final Fantasy XI on my 360. I then switched to using it on a computer, but I got too used to having a controller, so I had to go down that road.

The wireless controller should work with a play n charge kit. Microsoft has released basic drivers for the Xbox 360 controller.

For the most part though, you'll want to use some kind of other software to manage it like Xpadder or XBCD.

Be prepared for a lot of "WTF's!??!" as you try to get it to work. Especially if you're running a 64-bit system.

As far as I'm aware, the wireless controller doesn't send all of its commands over cable. I just tried with mine and it merely charges with the PC. A wireless PC receiver is required for the controller to communicate with the PC.

Wired controllers work fine, but I've never heard of anyone using a wireless controller without a PC receiver.

Huh, how about that. I swear as I was quickly searching for x64 information I saw info regarding the play n charge kit.

Ah man! I was really hoping for an easy way (software, drivers, etc...) rather than needing to shell out more money for what should have been compatible with all M$ products anyway

Thanks for the quick reply guys Just wish someone would have figured a way to send the info through the play and charge kit... I mean, they figured out the JTAG hack, how could this be even as remotely difficult as that

Yup only the power is transmitted to the controller with the charging kit.

You should be able to find a wireless receiver pretty cheap. Or get a cheap wired 360 controller.

Most newer PC games work right from the start with a 360 controller.

Well, I think it has the power pins and possibly a single basic data pin, given that the controller syncs automatically with the console when a play-n-charge kit is connected. But obviously not all the data throughput that a wired controller has.

there must be a way to send data over custom usb cable, we may get a solution comparing wired and wireless controller but i think nobody wants to open his controller and solder some wires on it to make wired since reciever not that expensive. But there should be someone in scene who want to do that, isn't there?

Yeah, you really don't even need the sync rigout. If you can plug a ROL board in any 360 and sync your controllers. The ROL board remembers up to four I think. Then just wire a USB cord to the 4 contacts, For the 3.3v I just used two diodes on the USB 5V red wire to drop the voltage to 3.6v (close enough).
