Tools for modding but also what's best glue etc to use to fill in large gaps when controller modding?
Bought a cheap 30w soldering iron with a de-soldering pump.. soldering iron just blew up and that pump is useless, might as well put my lips around the solder and suck, would have more luck.
From UK so not everything available in US will be out here, but least a decent idea. Would prefer an electrical de-soldering tool rather than the pumps.. if anyone knows what to look for.
Thanks

I use the Antex XS25 from Maplin, there are sets of different tips available for different kinds of soldering. The Antex irons are very reliable, my Dad's one is 40 years old and still going strong. The fine tip is great for the small LEDs on the controllers and ROL. De-solder braid is much easier to use than a solder pump, personally speaking. For filler I use a 2-part putty I bought from eBay. It's designed for filling (small) holes in boats, can't remember the name off-hand, perhaps V-Tech? A rotary tool (Dremel) of some kind is pretty much essential for me, as is a wide range of wet n dry sandpapers from 300 grit to 1200 grit which I usually get from Halfords. Hope that helps

Thanks. Saw a desoldering tool on youtube which seem to work pretty good, though.. Will probably try the braid though once I get a decent soldering iron.
