I have a modded xbox that is hooked up to my home network by Cat5.....When I boot the xbox, I can see the main screen and navigate all through XBMC to get to my movies....When I play a movie, it is then that the screen goes blank, but I can hear it.....It also just started doing this....

Any ideas on what to try...

there are a few possibilities. The video could be encoded in such a way that xbmc cant display the video, you're using an unstable xbmc build, or your xbox is outputting the video in a resolution that your tv can't handle(only an issue if using hd cables).

An update to my problem...

If I stop the movie, go back to the file page, then select the movie again, it plays no problem.....

i have the opposite problem, video, but no sound after the startup logo, which sound fine. so there is no sound when i scroll through the system menu or playing a game. im still on the ms dash so maybe changing it would help.
