I tried editing the keymap.xml file but every time I did my xbmc froze up. This is what I tried to input:

I got the button codes from this site. Is there a reason why xbmc would freeze up after I added these changes? Also, is it even possible to use the xbox 360 remote on the original xbox? The volume buttons work and so does the mute button but nothing else. It would be nice to use this remote rather than the official black one.

You are following a guide to get the remote mapped for the PC.

What I did was edit the file looking for commands I wanted to map to the numbers.

I have these on one Xbox:
1 scroll up
3 scroll down
7 shut down menu

Just find what you want and copy and paste. If you can't figure it out I will try to find it on that Xbox and post it here.

Yeah, I kinda figured that you can only use the bottom half of the remote. But the thing that bothered me was that my xbmc build froze up after I added those changes to the keymap.xml and restarted. I guess it didn't like the button codes or something.
