I got an old elite with a BenQ drive that I will be sending to my nephew in Brazil and since he will never play on xbox live I want to flash it with the most compatible firmware so he can play both stealth and non stealth games. iXtreme blocks non stealth backups correct? What is the most universal firmware if you don't care about xbox live?

I guess I need to rephrase this. Is there a firmware that won't block non stealth backups?

LT does not check or care about stealth. So your best bet is the latest LT+ firmware.

What is the difference between the BenQ_iXtreme_LT_v1.2 and Benq_iXtreme_LT_Plus? I currently have it flashed with the BenQ_iXtreme_LT_v1.2.

LT v1.2 does not have support for AP25 titles. If you have updated the Xbox to the Kinect dashboard, you won't be able to boot AP25 titles until you update to LT+.

AP25 = Kinect games? That makes LT+ the latest firmware then right? I guess I will update to LT+ and update the dashboard then so he can play the latest games. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

AP25 = Kinect games?
ap2.5 = ap2.5. it has nothing to do with kinect, other than the fact that it was first seen with the dashboard update required for kinect (and any games that have come out since).
its a protection scheme present and enabled on halo reach, modern warfare 2, black ops, fable 3, need for speed hot pursuit, and assassins creed brotherhood.
microsoft can however enable the protection scheme on older games by dashboard updates.

Thanks for the info. Oh well I guess I will crack the 360 open again. They should move that 1.2 to the old firmwares folder on Xbins =p

I flashed the drive with the LT+ then downloaded the SystemUpdate_12625_CD and ran it from a flash drive. Now when I put a game in the drive it won't load. Any idea why?

Give more details as to what "won't load" means

I put the game in and start the xbox and it goes straight to the dashboard. The dashboard only gives me the option to open/close tray, I press open tray and it opens, I close it and it closes the gives me the message reading... and goes back to open tray and the game won't load. This is a backup game I haven't tried an original but I guess the result would be the same.
Here is my firmware update log:

I just saw on iXtreme that there is a newer IXtreme LT+ 1.1 Lite Touch Firmware Download w/ AP25 Support. Is that newer than the one I got from xbins?

Nevermind I'm an idiot. I forgot to plug in the SATA cable

. I hope that doesn't get me flagged for a ban.

LOL yea no worries you are not the first person I have seen on here to do such a thing.
As for the ban your chances of getting banned is about the same as running custom firmware so no more or less chance that you have already put yourself in.
