I'm going to be installing Krayzie's ndure v1.1.1 softmod on an old XBox I forgot I had (gonna fill it with emulators and give it to my nephew), and I noticed that pretty much every tutorial I could find was several years (5+) old. The xbox has kernel v3944 and dashboard v5659. Should I still connect it to xbox live and run any updates first? This seems like something Microsoft would have patched out ASAP.

xb1 live is no more but you can do this instead: http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?s=&...t&p=4643674 if you want the updated dash 5960
Kernel versions don't matter as krayzie's ndure handles that.
