I have a liteon w/ ixtreme lt+ firmware.

I'm interested in backing up some of my xbox games. I've searched and I'm seeing conflicting information, or lack of information. It's hard to know whats current. From what I've read ap2.5 games that are ripped from a kreon drive are not live safe, but is it still possible? Some posts say you need to use the 0800 firmware.

Anyway I'm only interested in playing my backups OFFLINE. I have no interest in connecting that console to xbox live. Could I still use wxripper on current ap 2.5 games, check / patch them with abgx and then play them offline?

Do I absolutely still need a kreon drive too or could I use the dvd swap method I've seen and read about. I'd rather not flash my 360 drive back and forth if it's not necessary.
