That's a fair assessment. Give it a try when version 1.3 comes out. I guarantee you that whatever you're doing manually, it can handle at least half of it automatically and save you some time. I've put a lot of effort into making sure it works as both a tool for newbies just trying to FTP content and an organizer that will always tell you exactly what it's about to do and has done, so that really anal types can use it as well.

I will, for sure. Maybe a better way to articulate my previous comment is to say if your tool had been available when I first got into the JTAG stuff, it would have become the linchpin of my setup--maybe it still will. Looking forward to seeing the next version.

That was the same way for me. Trying to work with Node21 on the xbox360 management side helped a lot, but not having something to handle from the PC direction sucked. Looking forward to the next version.

Thank you xamphear for your great app

. even if I get an error everytime I select files, by hitting continue the job is done

So thanks to your app I was finally able to separate my dlcs from xbla games across my xbox360 harddisks

There are still some unsupported files that I had to move manually like gameroom files but Its already impressive.
Thanks

Version 1.3 released.
Cheers for the update.
Is it possible to add the ability to read title info from game.iso files? - It would be a matter of opening the game.iso (360 formatted?) and grabbing the information from the default.xex contained within.

sweet looking program.
Thank you very much. I'm going to give it a try for the first time this evening.
I use my internal hdd for storing only XBLA and DLC. I play regular games from external usb hdd's
A few possible suggestions/ideas......but I don't know how feasable these are....but a couple of them in particular would be ideal.
1) DLC/XBLA comparison list. After it scans the 360 hdd for all the drive info on what DLC and XBLA you have for x games.....would it be possible to have it give a report or show what games or dlc you have missing/have/have-but-wrong-named a bit like xm360 used to do (but that was with XBLA only as far as I'm aware). Been crying out for a content manager that could handle this for ages.
2) The app to read the FSD xml files, and then add something that could pull down all the necessary covers and put them into the correct place. I hate having FSD to do that, and waiting on the dashboard while its completing.....as if stop it, then it won't try to redownload the missing titles again and have to update each cover manually.
3) Synchronising. For the app to synchronise files that are on the internal 360 hdd, with those that are stored on a pc. That way, can be very useful for adding new stuff to the 360, while keeping an extra backup on a ussb/pc drive. It could also be ideal for those, like myself, that are about to install a new larger 360 hdd for transferring the info between the 2 hdds

I have a solution fpr your 2nd request:
GaDaBaMa check fsd forum on off topic section for direct support from dev.
Its already working great. Just need a little more debugging. Now I don't re download assets every time I upgrade or just re install fsd2.

What do you mean by "title info"? It already reads the game name, TitleID and MediaID from 360 ISO files. What more would you need?

1) DLC/XBLA comparison list.
2) The app to read the FSD xml files
3) Synchronising.
Jackkill is right about #2, check out gadabama.
As for the others:
#1 I'm not aware of any master game/DLC list like there are for other ROM scenes. abgx has a list of releases, but it doesn't contain enough information to match to individual content files. If you know of a regularly updated database of 360 content that contains more than just scene release names, let me know.
#3 This is possible, but it would be a lot of work to make it function reliably over FTP. There's already a helper function that can scan your 360 and show you if files on your PC are already on your 360 or not, but it requires enabling the beta/advanced features in the options. Then you'll have to figure out how to use FSD to map a network drive, which can be confusing/buggy, that's why the feature is currently hidden.

Thanks for the quick replies.
I forgot about GaDaBaMa tbh....which I saw briefly mentioned before I went on holiday. Taking a look at it now, and posting for advice on it (regarding updating FSD and jqe360)
I suppose as for #3 (synchronising), it's probably not going to matter for most but would be great in distant future for keeping the active working drive and backup in top condition.
For a master DLC/XBLA list, I actually thought XM360 was redundant (hadn't used it in such a long time now)....and I'd never tried the xm360server....but I've just took a look at it now, and ran xm360server /D and its now creating me a list of all DLC titles...prob take quite a while. I don't know if that list is still maintained (if its managed by Node21 presumably?) vs using the older perl scripts.....but is there perhaps any way to use this info?
The older non-updated xbla file is in CSV format with the following fields
[0 day Attack on Earth] 03/02/2010 20 2.25 54 Night Missions Map Pack 4942E61AFD9154744E668C0B9AEFE57800AAEABE58.
Something looking in the form of how OfflineList used for things like NDS lists would be ideal, where it shows and can filter based on have, missing, and incorrect named based on the font colours of the title etc.

I meesed up when running the xm360server....forgetting to edit the cfg file....so as a result...the dlc csv saved to nowhere.
Just ran it again though, but for XBLA, which is quicker, and it is indeed still updated. The most recent xbla title on there showing
58410b3f 15/06/2011 4 8537 Magic 2012
Re-running it for DLC now. Hoping these csvs are of use?
I could email them if wish, to save having to run it yourself
If they are usable, then I think the only thing to add would be the delisted games, but don't think theres many of them
edit: DLC downloaded. 6083 entries included....seems fully uptodate comparing it with most recent known stuff

It actually checks for abgx360 in two locations, C:\WINDOWS\system32 or C:\WINDOWS\syswow64. I admit I didn't test this across a wide range of OS variations, but in a typical install, abgx360.exe should go to one of those two folders. Where did abgx360.exe install to on your system?
Edit: Nevermind, I think I found a bug in the autodetection method. It'll be fixed in the next version.

Just wondering....did you have any joy, or looked at, the csv files that come from xm360server for reports?.
I'd suspect the XBLA one would be the best to work from at first, rather than the DLC one due to the sheer amount of DLC out there until all working

Wow great work.. gonna download it right now and see how it handles DiRT 3 and the DLC I downloaded for it. Just got my jtag and noticed this hasn't been released for that long, seems like I got a jtag at a good time with all these goodies

So would it be better to use GOD format rather then using Xbox Image browser or does it make any difference?? From the few files I have converted so far it seems like XIB is quite a bit quicker and files are a little smaller as well, I am also able to rename the folder. Weird thing is with Multidisc games it doesn't say which one is disc 1,2 or 3 in FSD2. If this program only handles GOD format I'll just stick with that. Is one format more stable then the other??

This app only supports disc games converted to the GOD format. They share a package format with XBLA and DLC, so it was relatively easy to add support for them.
Extracted ISOs are just a bunch of files in a folder, so you'd have to upload it via FTP or USB.

any chance of a duplicate finder in the next version?

Just running through the app now, tidying things up a bit, and I've spotted a couple of duplicated DLCs on there.
plus one time when choosing Reorganise, I left it as the default Copy instead of changing it to Move (direct to a samba share on 360) so have a couple of extra dupes now! doh!.

Hi so I got a chance to use it a bit.. I just started playing Dirt 3 and downloaded a bunch of dlc and put it all in the same folder. And ftp it to my 360 internal HDD. Works fine DLC Shows up.
I grabbed all my DLC for dirt 3 off my xbox HDD and then opened it up on JCM and it created a new folder called DiRT 3 that I placed in the Content/00000 folder. I used the Output Path style: GameName/TitleID/ContentID/File so I drag that to my content folder but the DLC isn't working. Could the outpath style be causing an issue here?? I like it this way for ease of organizing.
I also thought that maybe cause the folder names didn't match, that could be causing a problem. I changed the Title ID folder to DiRT 3 to match the DLC folder but that didnt' work. I was suprised that even changing the Title ID folder to DiRT 3 in my GOD games folder that it still showed up in FSD2. Will I run into any issues if I Rename the Title IDs on my GOD games folders to the actual game name manually?? The covers seemed to still work.
I tried taking the GOD and putting it thru JCM as well to see if it could Rename the folder in the same way I did the DLC in the Output Path style: GameName/TitleID/ContentID/File But it said Failed Unsupported File. Does this just handle DLC,XBLA, and avatar stuff??
I'm kind of confused about this. I know it allows me to see what the content is and give a description so you can organize it that way. Which is really good. I watched the youtube video and see what your doing in JCM but I don't see what the end result looks like on the HDD. Like instead of all the Title IDs do you have Game names now in your GOD games folder, and the same with your Content/00000 folder does it show the actual game names too??
Sorry just trying to figure this out.. kind of hard without a tutorial, and seeing whats happening on the 360 HDD once the files are transferred.
I also tried setting up the SMB but am kind of having troubles. Know of any guides to make it work with vista and FSD2?? When I open up file manager in FSD it shows SMB it asks for a login and password.. not sure where to set this up. Any help would be awesome, just got this jtag not to long ago so still learning. Thanks

Any chance someone could help me out, I really want to get this content manager figured out. Could someone maybe post screen shots of how there content looks like on their 360 HDD?? Is it still showing up as Title ID folders or have they been renamed to the actuall game name??
How come when I put the GOD thru content manager I get an unsupported file?? Is this manager just for DLC XBLA and Avatar stuff??
Thanks guys

If you convert an ISO to GOD and then browse it with this program, it should show up. JTAG Content Manager definitely supports GODs.

Version 1.4 is out. Fixes some bugs and adds some new stuff. Download it in the OP.
Screenshot shows GODs being uploaded to reinforce the point I made in my previous post.

Thanks.....finally had chance to use it the last few days (aswell as GaDaBaMa).
Worked a treat to tidy up my 360 drive a bit, aswell as some new content that would've taken ages otherwise.
Don't suppose you managed to have any joy looking at xbla/DLC reports from xm360?

GaDaBaMa, when you import the FSD data, shows for each individual game, DLC and whether 1) You have it, 2) you don't, and 3) you have but its not in the xm360 db (colour coded).......but as far as can tell no way to get a big list, just a single game at a time
Would be great if it could do similar, but show it all as a full list of have/missing/notinlist for all the games at once (sort of like how offlinelist displays)

Can you add the ability to rename, copy or move in the Output Path style: Type/GameName/
Package Title/TitleID/ContentID/File? Sorry for my bad english and thanks for your fantastic program

I also second the ability to rename.....to comply with fatx naming convention.
As I've discovered that over time, some of my DLC has been over the fatx limits.......so whilst using XEXMenu to do the transfer from my usb drive to the internal......as xexmenu doesnt give any message to contrary, it simply doesnt copy the file....so lost quite a few bits and pieces

I don't understand... Are you saying you'd like to see this feature? Because it already exists for XBLA and DLC files. Select some files, hit the broom icon to "clean them up" and choose rename.

That shouldn't be too hard to add, I'll see what I can do for the next version.

Oh does it? Cool! As in, some files, not the folders, for whatever reason, to begin with, when on the pc, the filenames are way too long so will not install on an internal drive....unless originally renamed manually (which hadn't noticed at the time before changing my hdd)
I tend to use the Move organize mode (to a "Sorted" folder, before transfer to usb on the 360).....so does that also auto rename too as part of its process?

to answer my own question.....When moving it doesn't rename the files also.
Not a problem, will just do both steps each time from now on, now that I know

Yep, that's the way to do it. Rename then move, or move then rename.

I'm still having the same problem with renaming. When I unrar all my DiRT3 dlc into the 434D083D folder manually and ftp it to my 360 works fine.
When I use content manager to create a folder for the DLC and choose output path gamename/title ID/contentID/file I get a DiRT3 folder and transfer it to my 360 via my own FTP but it doesn't show up once I open the game and check for extra cars. Whats going on here?? I deleted the folder and tried other ways like putting the 434D083D folder on first then renaming it with FTP or renaming it first then FTP and still no luck.
How are you guys renaming the DLC?? Maybe its just this DiRT3 DLC thats causing problems. I can Rename the folder for my GOD games and DiRT3 still shows up fine in freestyle dash. I also renamed the limbo folder thats in the content folder and that has no issues loading up.
I pretty much tried every way to rename this folder, but for some reason its not showing up once the game loads and checks for the content. Only way its recognizing it is when I use the original GameID.
anyone had this issue with any other games.. if someone has DiRT3 and dlc could they maybe give it a try.

as far as I'm aware for the 360 itself, for DLC to be seen it must be in the /title ID/contentID/file format. Any other layout and I don't believe any game will see it. I don't think theres any way to get around that (I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong though)
Other layout options are more for archiving/sorting out your files on a pc based on gamename, for those that prefer it that way
XBLA and GOD games would work within FSD, as FSD itself is scanning all subfolders to find that sort of content, before a game is ran (and in effect mounting the game when you load, a bit like a virtual drive I guess)

I have to say again how much I love this app!
I don't suppose you might consider porting it(or a basic management version) to Andriod? (I would sure buy that from the app store ;-)
Would it be possible to have some sort of integration with apps like ISO2GOD? or perhaps some of le fluffie's functions eg; for extracting avatar items, game save stuff etc..
Also can u have more than one home folder? (Being able to do that would be handy as content often cannot fit on one 2tb drive etcc.... As long as it didn't create 'issues' of course ;-)
Donation button would be nice also :-)
Thanx again sooooo much!

Android port: I can't see myself doing this, sorry. I love my android phone, but I have a laptop if I need to do something complex.
Integration with ISO2GOD: Looked into this, but ISO2GOD doesn't have any way to hook into it, ie: command line or drag and drop.
More than a single home folder: It's not impossible, but it would be a bunch of code for limited use. If 20 more people asked for it, I'd consider it, I guess.
Donation: There's an email address in the readme, feel free to drop me a line if you really want to. It's not something I actively ask for, but I won't turn a nice gesture down.

Fantastic app, thanks!
One request I have though; is there any chance of getting support for network browsing? I realise I can map a network drive instead, but having native network browsing (similar to Network Neighbourhood/Network in Windows 7) would be fantastic.

Great tool, thanks a lot!
Some questions:
1) is it possible to ftp to a specific folder? (usb0:\\xbla\0000000\........) I have a very small internal hdd and so i put all my xbla games to an external hdd
2) would be great if it could scan all of the folders that are set in freestyle dash (i have my 360 games on usb0:\\games, my xbla games on usb0:\\xbla and so on)

The protocol used for mapping drives (SMB/CIFS) is the same protocol used by network neighborhood when you browse other PCs/devices. They are one and the same.

Feature #1 will probably show up in a future release.
Feature #2 probably won't, at least not in any fully-automated fashion. If you wanted to use the experimental fsd smb drive mapping feature, you could map drive letters to the usb drives as well as the internal hdd, and that would do what you're wanting.

Thanks for a great product!
I have a problem that JCM cannot move or rename GOD containers. It just outputs Failed in result column for all GODs, including those converted from NXE containers with NXE2GOD on the console itself. Any ideas why and what should I look for?
Several suggestions.
1. When renaming, delete empty folders (including all parent ones) if a file/GOD container has been moved out of it and the folder ended up to be empty. That should be an option and be default it should be enabled.
2. Add a custom template ability for renaming/moving for different types of content. I would like to have something like
{Type}/{GameName}/{DlcTitle}/{TitleId}/{ContentId}/<File(s)>
for DLC content and
{Type}/{GameName}/{TitleId}/{ContentId}/<File(s)>
for everything else, including GODs and XBLA games.
That will allow to save disk space: ditch GODs, which are easy to find because they can be reconstructed from ISOs and keep DLCs which are not so easy to find. Also it will reduce confusion with DLCs, as they can be easily identified by folder name {DlcTitle}.
