I'm in the process of a case swap and was wondering the the metal shielding under the mobo is necessary? its getting in the way is all...
Cheers.

Toss it in the trash, it's there to protect from RF but i've never seen a difference in picture
or functionality without it.

K Sweet. I was worried the mobo used it to ground to the PSU or something.
Thanks.

Its necessary if you use a component cable. The picture WILL flicker.
That's a problem i have.

Yeah dude it's worth keeping, don't need it if ur using a scart lead, but if u ever want it in hd (ish) then it won't work without the metal in. All I did was take the metal out, cut it in half, threw the front away and reduced the height of the remaining back bit. That way it would fit in a slimbox and doesn't get in the way.
Also I put wireless receivers inside my xbox for the controllers so that's why I cut the front off it, just incase of Any signal interference.
