pretty simple question can i put a 1.0-1.5 xbox in a 1.6 case?

Yes, but there is a standoff that is not used in one or the other.. don't remember.. pay attention to the screws, adjust as necessary.

The standoff is located on middle backside of the case close to the fan.

The 1.6 case is missing a standoff that the 1.5 case has. There is nothing you need to modify.
