Full Version: Will The Vga-2000 Work On A 1280x1024 (max) Lcd Monitor?

I have an Xbox rev. 1.6 & since it doesn't have native VGA support I'd like to hook it up to my standard 17" LCD monitor until I get either a wide screen HD TV or better monitor. My question is will the VGA-2000 ($25 USD at http://qr.net/dxet ) work on an LCD with a maximum resolution (native) of 1280X1024 LCD? It's an HP vs17e. If no, is there a comparable alternative for around the same price? I just don't want to spend a fortune for something that's not intended to be a more permanent solution. I understand the max resolution is only 720p but anything is better than my present setup - an old Zenith "20" CRT at 480p with composite video inputs.

Thanks for any help.

i actually got this a few months ago and found that it does work pretty good. i'm planning on using this with my xbox arcade that's in the works ( unsure.gif )

the resolution looked good... i had to play around with my monitors setting a bit. compared to other converters it's not bad for a cheapy.

note though is it needs a usb 5v for power and doesn't plug into 120volts. you can get a 120volt to usb 5v that does plug into a wall socket though. that's my plan later. i connected to my xbox directly with a converter that came with my xbox usb save do-hicky.

and this:

these are just examples for you.

Thanks for your reply but I still need to know if a VGA-2000 will even work with my monitor. The USB power issue is not a problem since I can use a port on my PC located right near the monitor.
