Grim Fandango is not dos compatible. It was made for windows 95/98 and relied on a few win32 libraries thus is not compatible with dosbox.

Thanks, so does that mean there's no way to play it on the xbox?

I don't think there is a way. The only possible solutions I think could posiobly think of are running it in an xboxlinux distro with wine or on a windows install on a virtual machine inside linux. Both solutions will be far more work than it's work and thats if they even work.

try scummvm emulator for xbox i know grim fandango was the 1st Lucas arts game not to use the scumm engine but id wager that the lucas arts fans added grim fandango to the scumm emulator.
I was never a grim fandango fan but i use scumm to play monkey island games.

I think scumm means "Script Creation Utility for Maniac Mansion" (im only saying that so i can say i was and still am the only person in the imediate area that finished maniac mansion without any walk throughs or any thing) biggrin.gif

You have 2 possible options, but both require Linux.

1. Attempt to run it straight through the last version of Wine available for the aged Xbox distros.

2. Try to run it through Wine using Residual. (Run Residual in Wine)

If you look in the *nix on Xbox forum, you'll see that I recently got the latest ScummVM running in wine. jester.gif

If either one of those doesn't work, then no. You'll have to wait for a newer kernel Linux, a Xbox port of Residual, or it may never happen. unsure.gif

Thanks for all the information guys.

Sounds like it might be more work than its worth.

ScummVMx is the xbox port.. just use that or dosent it do grim fandango? I dont have grim fandango in my original collection to try it..

ok never mind i did like 5 mins research and you would need a port of Residual/Grime to play grim on the xbox, and looks like they ran out of steam making the pc version letalon porting to any console.
So Linux it is.
