No insult intended but I think some more clarification is needed due BMFD's imprecise use of terms.
What exactly was meant in the PS. by "I have the original XBOX disk in safe, xbox now has new disk as it was modded long time ago."? What is he talking about: the HeXen disc he used to install XBMC as the main dash or, possibly, the retail HDD?
Does the Xbox concerned still have the same HDD fitted that was softmodded and previously working before using HeXen?
Sorry for terms.
I mean that i have the retail HDD. The HDD is the same befoure using HeXEn, when it was modded a long time ago, iīve asked to upgrade the HDD, so i have the original HDD.

if you cant boot without a disk you should try to fix your soft mod.
you can try using halo 2 and connect to xbox live see if it will update the dash then you can softmod again.
or if you have the eeprom.bin you connect the hard drive to a pc and make a xboxhdm disk to unlock the hard drive. then use xplorer360 to replace the missing/deletes files. and use xboxhdm to lock the hard disk again.
if you dont have the eeprom then you would have to hotswap and use xplorer360. or hotswap and use xboxhdm to replace the files.
Im assuming here but my understanding of his posts are as follows...
he has his stock HDD safe, His current hard disk was softmoded, but he was updating xbmc and his dvd player needs cleaning, sometimes the dvd's would fail to boot. after using one of the dvd's he has selected some option "probably an install softmod feature" this has gone ahead and deleted the previous softmoded files, the dvd player either failed to read the disk during the process or the process was stoped before the installation of the mod completed leaving him with no dash files.
The hard disk is probably correctly locked due to the error number(s) If they had been the cant unlock hard disk or hard disk not locked codes then i would think something els was wrong.
from the pieces of information on this post im 90% sure that he needs to replace the softmod files.
Agree with your words. I guess that dvd player has some problem before, because iīve tried to boot with some disks and didnīt work, and i guess that during install/update from boot disk, it has failed somewhere. Many times iīve trying install xbmc ou other apps and it stops with erros during installing process.
Iīve noticed that when booting up with boot disk, and tryed to ftp xbox to repare files, iīve no sucess doing that, just couldnīt ftp xbox for the same ip that always used, even changed the ip to the showed one in screen

Agreed, except that there's a bit that makes no sense. With a Krayzie or Kingroach softmod the mod files are protected by shadow c, and (unless it has changed very recently and adopted the Frosty's / HeXEn model) AID doesn't bypass shadow c, so the worst that should be happening is that the Xbox should be booting the rescue dash. I'd guess that cleaning or temporarily swapping the DVD drive should still allow HeXEn to boot so that the softmod dash can be replaced, then upgraded to the latest XBMC.
īHeimdall could i swapp the DVD drive to any one, or it must have some specifications?
And doing that, then i just need to run HeXEn boot disk?
Best regards and many thanks to all of you
