Sneakypeanut released a new version of his Easy freeBOOT - an application which will automate the creation of a freeBOOT image for JTAG-able consoles based on the original NAND image. Im a total newblet, I am trying to use this with cygnos, I have original nand and cpu key but it says I am selecting the incorrect smc. HELP

Not trying to be smug or anything, but if you're a total newblet, why do you have a cygnos chip?

I too have a Cygnos chip (V2 dual NAND), what you need to do is visist cygnos.com and get the appropriate SMC for your 360 revision, so say you have a Falcon, you need the Falcon SMC. Place it in the folder where Easy Freeboot has the SMC's placed and overwrite their Falcon SMC with the one you obtained from cygnos.com (this may require you to rename the SMC you downloaded from cygnos.com).

Then just go ahead and make an image and use the Cygnos V2 Toolbox to flash instead of Flash360.

Thanks for the app sneakypeanut, although 5.31 worked great my xellous no longer boots. As it is a great tool for backup/flashing will 5.32 bring it back for me? (Jasper 256)

Ps LOVE the feature that downloads the nand over the xellous ip then spits out your updated version automatically, very cool!

its used for dumping the nand of a exploitable console and automatically flashes xellous ready for you to build a freeBOOT image

BLade360 thank you for your help, I couldnt find on the site where to download the smc but isnt there a way to extract that from your current nand with the toolbox? I have a jasper 16mb by the way

i created mine using the cygnos smc option under smc, and flashed it on using the cygnos toolbox. cygnos toolbox asks fot the flash, the smc and the kv but i only selected the flash as adding the smc and kv resulted in it not booting. that was with 5.31. tried it on 5.32 and it wont load the smc.

What exactly was the Cygnos Glitch? I'm curious only because I own a Cygnos chip and haven't updated past 12611. Also, thanks for helping out by making this program. I've always made my nand images manually and this seems to make the process more idiot friendly, which is always a plus as I'm not the only idiot out there.

cygnos glitch was when u put in a regular xenon image and it just thought the smc was cygnos...

Story short I chickened out flashing again without Xellous as backup to reflash if it wouldn't boot afterwards.
So I used the new Xell Updater v1.2 and it worked like a charm. Thanks for Easy Freeboot

Nice on the 5.32 Release I used 5.31 on my xenon and it has a usb spi but it always said cyngos or whatever on smc. I couldnt figure out why LOL NOW I know why. Long story short I had a copy of the nand before I flashed the updated image I flashed with the glitch and got e79 and no xellious did a quick usb with nandpro cmd and it fixed it. after using the program a couple times i got it to work. Smc finally said stock on xenon but now you got me wondering if xellious works LOL need to check that.

I'm hoping you got to benefit from my post before they deleted it.

Download the official dashboard update from the xbox website, stick it on a usb drive and boot. Don't worry your 360 will only add the avatars and Kinect shit IF you already flashed to the latest dashboard version.

This latest Easy FreeBoot 5.2 version removes the option for XeLL and has "XeLL Reloaded" instead. Is that stable? Seems everybody is using XeLLous.

Is ap2.5 automatically disabled in 13599 Freeboot builds?

I too would like to know the answer to that, is ap2.5 removed/disabled ?

Also, is Easy FreeBoot a freeboot toolbox replacement ? I Havent reflashed since 12611 update. I use 12611 + dashlaunch.

not really. EFB does quite a bit more than just act as an fbbuild wrapper, as it bundles in nand reading/writing via nandpro, 360 flash tool integration, etc.

bestpig's toolbox is just an fbbuild wrapper.

note that fbbuild has become pretty straightforward and pretty much obviates the need for wrappers.

Nevermind, I found it.

I have done that exact thing for each of the previous freeboot images, tried last night an now I get an error 81 everytime I try to install it over the top. Has anyone else seen this? did I skip something this go around?

I think I found a bug.

I am trying to build a nand using donor files only for a 256 Jasper and it won't ask me for the CPU key.

Here are the settings i am using.

MAIN > KERNEL VER 9199 , XELLOUS
SMC > AUD_CLAMP
OPTIONS > Use donor files.

After i click create freeboot it just runs without asking me for cpukey and uses this CPUkey.

CPU Key : 44DAC96B8DC64792C3B45CDD05D7E2CD

I tried using different kernel versions and different smc options but it still wont ask me for cpu key.

Am I missing something or is this a bug?

Nevermind, i got my answer directly from Sneakypeanut.
CPUkey is not needed when using donor files.
Also donor files are currently only working on dash 9199

I dumped my nand on my Falcon and it dumped 100% finished but I got this error too: Error: Reading block 3C5 status 250. I then used this dump in EFB 5.32 but I am getting a weird error. I load the nand dump into EFB 5.32, select 13599 dash and Stock SMC. It then asks for the cpu key, which I enter. Then it shows that its a Falcon with 5770 and I say yes. Then I get this error: Donor files used: extended.bin, secdata.bin. Warning .......
Problem is, I didnt use any donor files at all. Could this be because of the bad block in the nand dump? I know there was a bad block that had to be remapped when I first flashed the dash to 9199 (current dash I'm at). Any help please?
