Pcsxr-xenon is a Sony Playstation emulator using libxenon, by Ced2911.
It is based on lastest PCSX-Reloaded source code.

Video i made of it playing GTA 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Mghlqf1SPY (Excuse the terrible video, it was filmed with a mobile phone in one hand and the Xbox 360 controller in my other!)

How to use:
Unzip the file to the root of a FAT32 formatted USB drive
Copy your Playstation ISO's to the USB drive.
Power on your Jtagged Xbox 360 with the eject button to launch Xell (Or load Xell Reloaded from Xell Launch)
Insert the USB drive, the emulator should load
Choose your ISO and play

Nice work!

Should be on the front page.

Awesome! It looks like its running very well. I'm gonna test a few game myself.

This is off to a great start, especially for a first version.

Tomb Raider 2 runs almost perfectly. I also noticed that it is best to use the usb in the front left slot or the application will not load properly. Usb seem to respond better than dual layer DVDs with multiple files as well.

Is there a compatibility list? Hopefully, one can be generated as tittles are played.

Thanks to Ced2911 and everyone involved! Much appreciated!

try using xell-reloaded, or maybe you need to try backing up your game disk again wink.gif

Thanks

Got the emulator to work, gta2 runs very nice, also crash bandicoot works.

I also tried GTA 1 but it was very slow, and tony hawk only shows a black screen with music playing.

Anyone got the n64 emulator to work? wonder how that runs

hi guys

i have tried running this using 4 different usb sticks and a external hard drive. i have the files on the root of the fat32 formatted drive.

\pcsxr\
\Xenon.elf
\ISO\ff7cd1.iso

I have tried running it from xell, xellous and xell reloaded via xelllaunch. i get the same error that repeats over and over on the screen

here are photos of the errors im getting

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/716/img0441tbc.jpg/

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/607/img0443c.jpg/

any help would be great as i have no clue what is wrong.
thx for the help guys

EDIT: im using version of xell reloaded with blue background, i have people with black and green text but i have looked around and have no idea where people are getting it. if it even makes any difference
thx again

I put the roms on the root of the usb drive I don't put them in a folder. If you do put them in a folder try PSXISO if that doesn't work try the root.

Edit: I also have a Sandisk Cruzer and have problems running anything Linux with those drives, try another oneand see if that helps.
jayboy86
i dont think that will make any difference as i cannot even load the emulator.

just tried with dvd drive empty etc, plugged in usb and says over and over again failed to open xenon.elf or somthing along those lines

have i got the latest xell reloaded?
jayboy86
got the emulator to finally load. tried to load ff7cd1.iso. first greeted with a red screen followed by a black screen
gonna try a .img file of the game see if that makes any difference
turnerl
what did you do to get it to load the emu, I still cant get it to load? Thanks !
jayboy86
to be honest i tried another usb stick. used my 1gb kingston. i put the usb stick in the 360 before i loaded xell reloaded. xell reloaded started and loaded the emu. then i tried using a ff7cd1.img file instead of iso

loaded ff7 perfectly. sound and game runs without a single problem, even saves which for ff7 will be useful lol

I'm glad to see you guys making some good legal homebrew...Keep it coming!!

thx for the link.

have been trying to get final fantasy 9 to work, used lots of different iso, img and bin files. none work. tried even making backups of my originals using clonecd4. nothing will work. looks like its loading but all you get is a black screen. would love to play ff9, if anyone else can try that would be great
jayboy86
i have tried and tried with ff9, downloaded so many versions, bin, iso, img none of them worked. i only have disc 4 here i own, rest are too scratched. i made a img of disc 4 and it booted, so im waiting for ff9 i bought off ebay to get here then ill try that with disc 1.

i also tried metal gear solid, booted but really slow.
crash bandicoot 1 and 2 work perfectly
ff7 works perectly, even made it to disc 2 wink.gif
got plenty more games here to try (almost 250 games)

if anyone has a game they want me to test, if i have it ill give it a go.

Is it okay to install this on the hard drive or should I keep using this from the usb stick?
ploggy
Hey Ced, heard you got rayman working. Is that with the public release? if so, what format is the game? ISO/BIN/CCD?

Also, what's the music like, is it in sync?. On the pc emulators the the music isn't in sync with the levels at times.

Thanks smile.gif
freshman26
anyone has an idea how to make multiple .bin and a .cue to work? tried magiciso to convert but doesn't work. really would like to play Loaded again lol
Ced2911
Rayman was working with the new gpu plugin, sound is crap :s but still a wip

Thanks Ced, it's starting to take shape and thanks for looking into Rayman it's the first game I ever played on the ps1.

this is awesome. I have so many playstation 1 games sitting in the basement that I was wanting to play. I have made isos of a few and they play on the emulator but my main issue is that I have no sound. I am connected via vga cables and I cant get it to work. Any suggestions?

Tried this on my RGH slim, just hung at 'Loading xenon.elf...'.

The N64 emulator works fine uhh.gif

Thats strange, I loaded this fine on my Falcon RGH but had no sound. what Console are you glitching?

I am also using VGA connections on my Glitched 360.

N64 emulation works awesome btw. New updated ver of N64 emulation rocks and works really well with saves and all.

It's a brand new Slim console.

Weird, will try it again this evening.

Antman1
If it doesn't work again it could be that the hardware on the Slim is to blame. When this was written it wasn't being tested and used on the Slim. My sound may also not be working because it is loading with the RGH from Xell-Reloaded. I hope we can get it going with sound though. Looking forward to playing some Twisted Metal 4. smile.gif
