I need a little help. Something is corrupted on my g partition. If I ftp anything to it or copy anything from my f partition to G partition it will either give me a disk read error or have various audio or graphical problems.
f partition works fine. Is there anyway that I can just repair g without having to reformat the entire thing.
Thanks for any help.
lordvader129
how large is your G partition? if its over 256gb you would have had to use xbpartitioner to format it

if you did not use xbpartitioner, i dont know of any way to recover corrupted data
00zero11
its only a 150g partition. Thanks for the help. I'll back it all up and give it a shot. I dunno if xbpartition was used originally as i bought it modded some years ago.
00zero11
okso now its fubar. and lost everything not just g partition. but now it says f drive has zero space and everything is gone. help

It sounds as though your hard drive has failed. Fit a new one.
00zero11
nah the guy that modded it did a really bang up job. I got it figured out it. had to reformat the whole thing though. live and learn.
00zero11
ok now i really fucked up. apparently in the reformat i changed my c partition and now i get error 13/14, i tried to do a hotswap to run xhdm and clean it up but it dosn't recognize the xbox hd. any suggestions?

This still sounds like the correct answer..
If after a while you decide that it is the hard drive.. you can follow what i would do.
(im typing this out now because i may not be here later, follow heimdalls advice untill you decide its a corrupted hard disk or not)

error 13 is usualy because you dont have your ms dash and it wants to set the clock.
I hope you have your eeprom backed up to your pc.

What you can do if you have your eeprom is Use xboxhdm to unlock the drive, and then use xplorer360 to see the contents. If it looks to be missing I would then (persoanlly) Have xboxhdm delete the fatx partition table.. partition the drive in to 32gb partitions (or less) Then format the partitions individualy as fat. have it do a thourough chkdisk and provided all the partitions formated and checked out ok. Remove all the partitions one by one. and then have xboxhdm rebuild the disk from scratch.
If it would not format and partition properly. then I would use hddregen2011 and tell it to repair all sectors in range even if not bad "its one of the options" Depending on how bad the drive is and what speed ide cables your using it can take and hour or two (133 ide) to 6/7 hours (ide 33) those are standard times for a relitivly undamaged drive. If the drive is totally messed up then it could take considerably longer. And may just need to be binned.
If the hddregen works its magic. then you can rebuild the hard disk from scratch using xboxhdm. although i would presonaly use the regenerated hard disk in a pc where i could keep an eye on it, and replace the xbox one.

remember when locking hard drives you need to make the bios fail to detect your primary master drive (the xbox drive) or it will get frozen, you can do this in some bios's if you cant set it in the bios you cann simply leave the power disscionnected from the hard disk untill the POST has failed to detect it.

looks like a soft mod. i don't see a mod chip in the console. how exactly it was modded i don't rightly know as i bought it modded. it can still do basic stuff. i can put in a game and play it and access the save data and stuff so the hd still works. just for some reason xbox hd maker says the hd isn't connected when i do an error 12 hotswap. and it only a 320gb hd. i did back up the c partition and eeprom.
Heimdall
If you have the eeprom then you don't need to hotswap (and that's a good thing, because every time you hotswap there's a chance you'll brick the disk or your PC or both). Just follow the link in my signature (Softmod with eeprom).

Out of interest, when you repartitioned the drive, did you run XBPartitioner directly from the dash, or from a boot / rescue disc?
00zero11
from the dash.now if i do restore my c partition thru xhdm can i used the backed up c partition?
Heimdall
No, and you don't want to use your old C partition, because the softmod on it is rubbish. If it weren't then you couldn't have caused the damage you did just by running XBPartitioner.

Use your eeprom, and install a new softmod as described in the link in my signature.
00zero11
ok so now. i try to unlock it in xhdm and its giving me command not found. i am also now getting error 16 instead of 13/14. this has been a nightmare.
Heimdall
xboxhdm

How are you trying to unlock the disk? If it's giving you a "command not found" error then you're in the wrong part of the toolset, or you're typing the wrong command.
00zero11
ok i boot it up. and it goes to the xbox hd maker screen. i select option 3. i let it do its thing till the command prompt comes back the i enter unlockhd-a

nevermind. i forgot a space between unlockhd and -a
00zero11
ok so i unlocked it. installed the stock c partition from slayers and ndure. locked it again the eeprom wasn't workingt so i did it using the xbox hd password. i put it back in the xbox and now i get error 6.
Heimdall
That means you've locked it with the wrong password. Unlock it again (with the incorrect password you just used to lock it).

If the eeprom unlocked it then it will also lock it. Use option 3, then lockhd -a
00zero11
i'm sorry. let me clarify. the eeprom i had didn't unlock it. i had to use the hd password to unlock it. i used the same one to lock it
00zero11
ok i'm attempting to unlock the hd with the xbox hd password that i used to lock it and it brings up the info about the hard drive but it still lists it as locked

dont worry about what it list it as..
what you want to worry about is if it says command succsesfull.
it wont report a diference in state "Locked vs unlocked" untill you restart.
But if it says command sucsessfull then it should be unlocked.
00zero11
it didn't say it completed. but it didn't say the pw was wrong either so i'm confused

what did you type to lock it ?
And what did you use to lock it?

if you used xboxhdm 1.9 you should be able to type:
unlockhd -p XBOSCENE
and that would unlock it. After it does that restart with the correct eeprom and lock it using:
lockhd -a

saying nothing isnt a good thing usualy just means the password is the correct length/format But not the right one..
Any way try the master unlock password "xboxscene" as outlined above. With a little luck it will let you unlock it. if not you may want to try atapwd to unlock it using a master password. XBOXSCENE would be the password i start with.
but there are other default passwords although i never remember them.
00zero11
ok used atapwd to unlock it so success there. but the eeprom is not locking the hd. I'm almost there but how do i lock it to the xbox now
00zero11
ok after much doing the eeprom does work now. but when i pop it back into the xbox i still get error 6
Heimdall
That means it's the wrong eeprom.
00zero11
its the one i pulled from the xbox. is there more than one?
Heimdall
No, but if the softmod supports virtual eeprom then it might be a copy of the virtual eeprom rather than the real eeprom. Alternatively, if someone modded the Xbox for you, or you didn't take the eeprom backup yourself, then there's no guarantee that the eeprom comes from your Xbox at all - it could have simply been left there by the softmod installer.
00zero11
ok so i got the epprom.bin and another one that says back up. I using eeprom.bin. thats correct right?
Heimdall
It depends. Was the eeprom.bin file on the Xbox when you got it, or did you run Config Magic or Evox and save your own copy of eeprom.bin?
00zero11
both were pulled from the xbox. from the e partition. the hard drive was originally locked with config magic
Heimdall
If it was softmodded then the hard drive can't have been locked with Config Magic.

It doesn't matter which partition the eeprom.bin file came from, my question is how did it get there? Did you run Config Magic to create the file, or was it on there when you got the Xbox?
00zero11
was there when i got it
shambles1980
you should try a diferent copy of the eeprom.bin if you have one (i notice you mention that you do)
Failing any of that your going to need a eeprom reader. You can make them or buy them.
Heimdall
So, it sounds as though it's not the eeprom from your box, but left there by the person who installed the softmod, who obviously re-used an old softmod and copied across the eeprom from a previous Xbox.

Just to finally confirm the status of the eeprom copy you have, open it in LiveInfo and see if the serial number matches the one on the label underneath your Xbox. If it doesn't then it's not your eeprom, and you need to fit a chip or use an eeprom reader to get your real eeprom.
00zero11
Found the right eeprom and everything is working great. thank you both for all your patience and help.
