Can anyone recommend a relay for doing the dual nand with cygnos that can be purchased at radio shack??
Model number would be great, please only post if you have used yourself

you dont NEED a specific relay per say.

as long as your coil voltage matches or is slightly less then what you will be switching with.. (not sure but cygnos either uses 5V or 3.3V).

i made the mistake of getting a 12v relay and despite it clicking with 5v, it does not have enough power to pull the contactors..

regardless, perhaps the cygnos documentation has the relay numbers you need wink.gif
heres one from digikey (there is an abundance of axicom 3V relays).. i didnt see any on radishack.

here are some guidelines as well:

must be SPDT or DPDT
must be a Form C relay
3Volt coil voltage
Switching voltage should be close to what you are switching but most common would be 110/125 volts.

i BELIEVE but im not sure, that you would want a non latching relay. a latching relay will stay in the last state it was on and are generally dual coil. perhaps someone else can comment whether it needs to be a latching relay and if it needs to be single or dual coil.

coil current should be as low as possible in this situation as there isnt going to be much current switching it.

a relay like this should work:
