I recently got given an xbox 1 that works fine, except the dvd drive is poked and it does not read disks at all.

Is there any way to mod this xbox 1, either softmod or modchip, so I can play my original backups from the 300GB harddrive installed in it?

If it has a 300GB hard drive then it's almost certainly already modded.....

Sorry its a 320GB I have that I have spare that I will install into it. I haven't opened it up yet.

But I just tested an original game (Need for Speed Underground 2) about 10 minutes ago and it reads it without issue. Not sure why the original owner said it doesn't work. So it looks like I might be able to use it to soft mod the console. So knowing that what's the best route to go? Which softmod and xbox 1 original game shall I start looking to buy?

Krayzie 1.1.1 and Splinter Cell (original game, but all versions including Platinum Hits).
