RGBuild2 Beta 0v100
Posted by XanTium | January 12 19:17 EST | News Category: Xbox360

Team RGLoader released RESET GLITCH LOADER-dev 0v100 which will allow to create a DevKit NAND for retail consoles with the Reset Glitch Hack, and give you most of the DevKit functionality on your retail 360:
[QUOTE]
*THIS IS A BETA RELEASE, NOT EVEN THE NFO IS FINISHED YET*
Rgloader-dev 0v98 got leaked a few weeks back and contains a few bugs like slims showing up as test kits etc. This build contains the latest patches for all the xbox files but does not support big block or bad block.

If you manage the bad blocks yourself you might be able to get around the bad block issue.

Things to come in final release:
* Big block support.
* INI files will replace the bat files.
* GUI Builder.
* Xell dual boot & hvxbootOS ;)

What's new/fixed in 0v100:
* Added 14699 patches
* Moved files location on hdd
* Slims show up as dev kit on 14699 without xbdm.ini or modded xbdm.xex
* Retail disc support on slims
* Added neededfiles.txt to the folders

Thats the official release video I made last night for the release .... Shows you how to set it up and then a few features , there is also different thread for this on Xbox-Scene but the obvioulsy didn't link to it in the news story.

We need feedback about retail game disc loading , it isn't working for me on my Slim , but I have a goofy drive set up , not a Lite-On 5s its a Hitachi 47 and the KV is spoofed to that , anyway ..... be sure to join Efnet we need beta testing completed and to get this thing into a release build so it's just about updating to the new kernels when they come out.
SilentBob1638
And now we get the hardware debugger or what is the purpose?

ok so b4 anyone asks how to flash this with raw flash

after you have made your RGbuild image copy the output "nandimage.bin" to the nand pro 3.0 folder

also to make it easy grab your "nandflash.bin" file from multi-builder or whatever your using and also copy it to the nandpro 3.0 folder

now run this command

nandpro nandflash.bin: @w16 nandimage.bin

once it finishes your all done

the nandflash.bin in the nandpro 3.0 folder can now be flashed with rawflash (bad block management works using rawflash)

great work guys keep it up and i live in your IRC room so if you guys need help testing just message me
K3thunder
The world really must be ending...
tydye81
I put together a package for flashing the image using flash360 instead of nandpro.

If you want to use some other program just follow the same steps and take the output image from Flash360/updflash.bin. (the fixed image)

In the final rgbuild this issue will be fixed... gotta love betas smile.gif

Since I do not have a coolrunner nor want to screw up my retail.

Noob question: is this DevKit NAND builder mostly for software developers?
or is hacked DevKit NAND better than hacked regular NAND (freeboot) for regular people too?

If all you do is play games and emulators and stuff , just stick with Xebuild/freeBOOT ..... This is mostly just useful to developers.

I'm very pleased to finally be able to use this. I'll wait for the final release, but this is enough to make me happy smile.gif

I only wanted to ask if it will work XDK software. I mean like Xbox Neighborhood and disk emulation. I mostly long for the Neighborhood option.

And just FYI, Xbox Game Hack 5.2 (6.0 and 6.3 too) can turn any retail game in devkit game, so you can play them on a devkit console, but the games must be extracted...

No No you've got it all wrong ... RGLoader brings the best of both worlds , no need to resign an xexs , it's a hacked Dev kernel as well , not just loading it ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bMvUMuzhU00

That's 13599 - I am working on getting this working for me on 14699 to make a new video , but there you have it, that is just a burned retail game and LT 2.0 ...

juggahax0r/tydye, is there any work currently being done (research or otherwise) on a version for JTAG/SMC hack consoles? I realize this version is currently in beta and it's priority at the moment, but those of us without RGH consoles and several JTAG/SMC hack consoles are anxious at the thought of making some devkits for ourselves. I know stoker mentioned a possibility for such a version on the RGLoader blog, but I don't know if there has been any advancement on that front. Either way, I'm mostly just curious.

In any case, all the work you've guys done is quite appreciated.

JTAG support is on the cards but we probably won't work on it until we get everything working fine for glitched boxes. Fixing stuff for glitch and adding JTAG support would be much easier than adding JTAG support and then fixing stuff since glitch and JTAG are almost the same, except JTAG needs a few extra bootloaders and payloads in the NAND.

Of course theres nothing stopping anyone else from working on their own JTAG support, it is all open-source after all tongue.gif

Manually building an image that uses all the filesystem files is not getting anything working , there isn't anything written to handle BBs ... I can also uncomment the files and make an image with all of them in the filesystem it still won't work..

Yeah, I figured as much. I didn't know how far along you were with the project (or were expecting to be), so I thought I'd ask. Is there a subversion repository somewhere?

I'd join you on IRC, but I'm having a hell of a time trying to get a decent (and cheap) shell provider for psyBNC after my old provider up and disappeared on me.

Hmm i wonder whats going on here then, i'm on a falcon. I can confirm it boots fine with a RGH retail dash. I seem to be following the proper procedure, i'll retrace my steps.

Wrong, it's been tested with an unbaned devkit keyvault and it can connect to partnernet. MS may be watching and will probably start laying down the banhammer soon, though.

yeah lets look at what you said devkit KV how many ppl have the KV from a devkit laying around let alone an unbanned one for 99% of people using this they will not be able to access pnet

its a dev kit with out the side car, and side car is used for dvd emulation and PIX. Since they add PIX to ethernet, so yes.

I say the wrong pinheader in the video but whatever ... You can do VS debugging NetKd , windbg , or i386kd over UART , UART is what I show in this video and if you browse my videos there is another one on setting up NetKd ..... I haven't tried PIX debugging but who needs all that, MS uses that for fine tuning ... The sidecar is also used for kernel debugging with UART , so the Maximus setup I show in the video I like to call a poor man's sidecar. I'll link to the other video below here too

Good to know ... The only thing I have had problems with is xbwatson .... Glad to see you are using this also lantus , you got anything new cooking?

although im not savy enough in coding to really reap the benefits of this i know that this will allow the homebrew 360 scene to grow immensely with now nay one w/ a RGH to have access to an almost fully working dev kit.

Good work guys!

So i take my original nand dump, place it in the folder as nand.bin

place my cpu key in build.bat and run it. Choose 14699 and fat and it builds an image

then i run nandpro 3.0 wioth this command: nandpro Image.14699-dev.bin: @w16 outputtoflash.bin

It finishes, i flash "outputtoflash.bin" with my cygnos360 tool box, and it does not boot. it powers on and what not. but it sits there like its not glitching.

If i switch to the other nand it glitches and boots fine, if i flash the nand that i want to boot the dev dash on with a RGH retail dash it boot no problem with in a second.

Am i missing something here guys? I thought it could be a LDV value but i cant check the dev nand in 360 flash dump tool to verify they are correct.

you got the nand pro command wrong it should have been

nandpro outputtoflash.bin: @w16 image.14699-dev.bin

what you are trying to do is write the dev image to a nand file . what you did was over write your dev image with whatever was in that outputtoflash.bin file

Ya I got a UART debuggers set up on my xenon, using a cheap usb rs232, but it works.

also if i want, if i get a RGH and obtain a sidecar and a 213w psu i can install it tongue.gif

you're correct, i made an error in my post i have been using: nandpro outputtoflash.bin: @w16 image.14699-dev.bin

so any ideas why i cannot get it to boot?

Thanks for confirming. This will be awesome. I work for a small developer who can't afford lots of real devkits for the entire team. Being able to turn a retail unit into an almost fully functioning devkit will save us lots of time and money. I may even try some homebrew development in my free time since I can now use my home retail 360 for development.

I believe this will lead to a huge explosion in homebrew for the 360. I think it was one of the reasons the original Xbox was so successful with xbmc, etc. (it was easy to turn into a fully working devkit). Hopefully more developers will now join 360 development.

Please keep the JTAG users in mind. I've got one of those at home but will probably get a second RGH unit now.

Thanks for the hard work!

Now if someone can come up with a devkit conversion for the retail PS3, my world will be complete. smile.gif

Wish that was true but that leak is incomplete and does not contain all the information needed to turn a retail PS3 into a devkit. 360 scene is so much better at sharing information and moving things forward.
