Full Version: How Do I Repair A Broken Sync Button?

I have gotten a free xbox but it has a broken sync button. What can i do to repair? If anybody knows a solution please give me instructions since i am a newb. =) Thanks for the help

You need to find another button that has the same specs...and learn how to solder and de-solder.

Yes - brandogg is right on the money. You'll need a 50 watt soldering iron. 15, 20 or 30 watt won't cut it. Also need flux, 60/40 rosin core solder and a wick braid.

www.digikey.com - could help with finding and buying the button switch. Good part prices there.

if u can get your hands on a red ring of death console, then u can remove and use that button.

now what do you mean by the same specs? Where would i find a spare button, like on an old RROD xbox 360?

1st question a he basically means a button just like the sync button.

2nd question yes you can get one off a RRoD console.

Ok if you want I might can desolder one from a dead 360 I have. Just make me an offer on it or you can send me the 360 and I can replace it for you.

If you just need to sync a controller the play and charge cable will work
