Im looking at a rapid fire chip that requires soldering to X,Y, and B button on the board, however I was also wanting to add some tactile buttons on the back of the controller as a "short cut" to control the X and B button would wiring both tactile and rapid fire to the same buttons cause issues? also on average how many 7mm tactiles can be added to each side of the back of the controller before I would have to ditch the rumble motors? it would be on a CG board if that matters.
The extra buttons will not change anything.
As far as how many you can cram in there goes, it depends on where you install them exactly. The Rumble motors are still in this controller here.http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f320/RDC...tinFalls045.jpg

thanks for the reply! I've seen that controller on the web somewhere but had assumed with that many tactiles the rumbler was gone so thats good news!
Welcome. With that many in there in those exact spots it's not easy, but trust me, it's still in there.
Even if you end up with one in the way, there's a little bit of play room for the motors to be moved around a little bit. Worse comes to worse you can swap them around so the Light Rumble motor is on the side that needs more room, as it has more play in it before hitting the shell, or you could even install 2 Light Rumble motors.
