hello people, i've just discovered that the burner already fitted in my pc is an ihas124-19y, i dont know if that is b series or not, anyone know how i can find out if its a b series or not?

If you want to take the burner out i know a easy way to tell.
Nec version has 2 "dents" mtk version has one. You want the mtk version.
FYI. By dents I mean the spots pressed into the metal bottom of the drive that come in contact with the chips on the internal circuit board and act as a heat sink to cool them.
I found a picture of the one dent mtk here. FYI The dent i am referring to has a tiny hole drilled in it too. They do this so it is easy to inspect that the heat sink pad was installed correctly.
