Hello All,

some years ago I softmodded my xbox1 myself. It was easy and fun to do, but now I can't figure out anymore hot to connect to my xbox. It's frustrating because I used to be able to do this my self!

I am using filezilla to connect to my xbox. My xbox is configured with automatic IP. When I use that ip adress to ftp to my xbox this is what shows up:

Status: Verbinden met 192.168.1.66:21...
Status: Verbinding aangemaakt, welkomstbericht afwachten...

Antwoord: 220-XBMC:FileZilla version 1.5.6, (based on FileZilla Server 0.8.8)

Antwoord: 220-http://sourceforge.net/projects/xbmc/
Antwoord: 220----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Antwoord: 220
Fout: Verbinding verloren
Fout: Kan niet verbinden met server

it's in dutch as you see, my apologises. Last part translated: Error connection lost, Error Cannot connect to server

Do I maybe need to open a port first in my router (huawei hg655d)?

btw, I am able to ping to this adress.

I have no ports being forwarded and everything is fine.

I think you are overlooking something really simple...

For example, remember that any changes you make on your dashboard need to be first saved, and then the system needs to be restarted before the changes take effect.

Also, don't forget that the default username and password combination when connecting to the Xbox (on most, if not all dashboards is Username: xbox Password: xbox

There is a tutorial section on xbox-scene.com where there are a few guides to networking with the Xbox.

Also. Don't use automatic IP on Xbox. Set it to manual. It makes things easier.

Which dashboard are you using? Evox doesn't support passive FTP, but your firewall may only work with passive FTP. Try running a different dashboard, or temporarily turn of the firewall on your PC.

maybe this is what I am looking over....

I am not sure what dashboard I am using because it goes straight to xbmc. I can go back to the original dashboard but dont know hot to get into evvox/unleashx....

dapzter
hmmmm still not able to figure this out....

settings I use in xbox:

static IP 192.168.1.66
subnetmask: 255.255.255.0
standard gateway 192.168.1.1
dns: dito (like pc)

ftp server in xbox enabled or disabled makes no difference.... still able to ping to this address

in filezilla I use this static ip and xbox/xbox:21

Still it says that it lost connection although firstly it says (in green) 220-http://sourceforge.net/projects/xbmc/

Completely true.

XBMC should have a built in file browser (haven't used it in ages, can't be positive) where you can look for other dashboards. If you used a softmod installer, they usually end up in E:/Dash or something similar.

As a last resort you can always burn a copy of EvoX to a disc with the evox.ini already configured properly for you to connect to it.

By default in XBMC it retrieves FTP information from your dashboard's configuration (if I'm not mistaken). This option CAN be disabled, and you can change your FTP settings through XBMC smile.gif

So your dashboard is ..... wait for it ...... XBMC. Really, not that complicated. huh.gif

As I said earlier, temporarily disable the firewall on your PC.

yup.... I figured out that xbmc was my dash. Been some years ago when I was succesfull with this, so forgive my newbie state of mind!!
Ofcourse I tried to disable firewall and antivirus. Also tried to connect from my kubuntu where I dont have antivirus and or firewall installed. Still no succes.
I found more posts on the internet with people having the same issue (google: 220-http://sourceforge.net/projects/xbmc/) It seems that FileZilla Server.xml is corrupted. Going to try to boot from hexen.iso and hopefully fix this.....
