Hey guys, been a long time since I posted here but I have something I'd like to showcase. I live in Louisiana so we have a week off for Mardi Gras and I did this project over the past few days (with a little work prior but all the hardware was done in 2 days).
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-lc3HRBTKX4...eature=youtu.beI am the one who built it, I know the user names don't match up. For whatever reason, I chose this username many years ago and this is the only site I don't use nintendo9713.
A huge thanks goes out to RDC. I'm not sure if he remembers me but he sent me schematics for the controllers and answered a lot of beginner questions that most people wouldn't have had the patience for so I hope he sees this and is somewhat proud his time to answer my questions went towards something.
Thanks for looking, and I have a lot of big plans for this in the future.

Awesome mod!!!!!!!!!!!!
It would take me 2 weeks just to solder the points on the remote, lol.

Good work, that would take some skill. Definatly work on something smaller and something for others to test.

Would you get better results with a Wiimote+ ?
I'd consider giving this a try if wii motion+ works (and if the setup gets a bit smaller too)

When it comes to wiring up the pad, can you use a 3rd party pad?
Good job mate. One to watch.

@dopesun @jefferey - Thanks!
@tommy - It's really not that bad. I did it over 2 days (hardware) so someone who does this often could do it in a day
@ozzylow - I do want to condense the circuit. If someone makes a library for the mBed/arduino that supports infrared sensing (they have them for buttons, not IR readings), then I can make a small box the size of a controller and you can plug this box into the wall, sync it to the 360 use a wireless sensor bar, and boom, ready to go. That's what I would like to see at the end.
@ploggy - There is an unstable library for the Wii+ but I want the following working:
Wiimote/Nunchuck
Sony Move
Mouse/ Keyboard
I know you can buy a mouse/keyboard adapter but it should be easy to implement. Maybe even incorporate the Kinect although I don't see it being applicable to most games.
&yes, you can use any controller but you will have to modify code/hardware. My controller is a CG but you may have a CL or Matrix.

If you want to go the Mouse Keyboard route or just want to expand on it in another way you should talk to the guys here. They seem to be doing something similar to you but with the PS3 (although I think they are working on 360 stuffs too.)

I wanted to build my own. I tested it last night. Keyboard works just fine, but mouse is pretty buggy :\. I'm doing some crap where I count the pixels the mouse has moved in the x,y direction, translate it to joysticks, then reset the mouse in the middle of the screen. Might have to find some library for it. This one is in C++. I used C# for the Wiimote.

Is it possible to map the Sixaxis on the Wiimote to mouse movements and use that on the 360?
Apparently the guys from that link got it really accurate and works really well with FPS games on the PS3 by using the Sixaxis in the PS3 controller.
Keep us updated on developments

I'm not sure what you're asking. Sixaxis on the Wiimote? Like the 3 accelerometers?

I may have got my terms mixed up with the PS3 pad. Yes, the accelerometers.
That's the way those guys do it, they somehow map the sixaxis of the PS3 pad to mouse movements.
If it's possible with the Wiimote, It would make the mouse accuracy alot better.
You can get a sense of what I mean from this Vid.

You can get the accelerometer values off the Wiimote. The connection between that and a mouse I'm not sure of what you mean. I have the Wiimote working on the Xbox 360, and then I'll have the keyboard/mouse working on the xbox 360. The keyboard/mouse & Wiimote don't go together. I apologize for the confusion.

I'm sorry, I couldn't have explained it right lol
It doesn't matter, good luck with your project
