Can anyone please help me. We have 2 X-Boxes, one downstairs and one upstairs. Individually they work fine, no problems, two separate Xbox live accounts.
BUT, they will not accept a party invite from each other. The text comes up with there maybe a network error. If someone else hosts the party we can join but we can not get the two X-Boxes to connect if it is just the two of them.
hope this makes sense

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Run the network test and make sure NAT is open on both consoles. If it doesn't say anything then it should be open and without any other errors.

Thank you. Done that and everything is ok. no issues.Anything else?

Daft question but my firewall on my computer wont affect the Xboxes will it?

Iv been reading ports in router could be blocked etc....how do i find them?? lol

Your router only has logical ports between the LAN and the WAN. Local connections are switched - no filtering at all.

when i lived in a shared house last year the lad upstairs could never get into my bad company2 games or my parties we never solved that
i think its something to do with both consoles on the same connection since he had cable installed upstairs with his own internet conection and it vanished after no problems

You can try enabling UPNP, port forwarding, DMZ, port triggering, opening NAT, disabling firewall (on router), check MTU size.

Of course, don't try everything at once. Try one and then check the results.

The link below has plenty of information regarding your topic. I found it on Google in one second so don't be scared to Google. dry.gif
