I been trying to backup my hardrive and it shows it's connected on the computer but on the unleashx dash, it says "no link."

What shows that what is connected? Where on the computer?
What is your Xbox IP address?
What is your PC IP address?
Did you buy the cable, or make it?
Are the link LEDs on the connections illuminated?
Can you ping the Xbox from your PC?
