I haven't been Modding since my xbox1 days with the old X3 and softmodds. I've been waiting and waiting and Waiting. I read about the RGH 1.0 and I started to awaken. Now seeing this I'm up and Adam.

Aargh, I just ordered a Coolrunner! Will the update to it be software or will the hardware/installation need to be changed? I have not upgraded to the new dash, should I go ahead with the installation anyway using RGH 1 or should I wait?

Yes I read that, the question is whether the change to the Coolrunner will be just a reflash of the Coolrunner, hardware mods to the Coolrunner board, and/or changes to the installation wiring. From the way they worded it, it isn't clear. But I guess no-one outside TX knows yet.

What are the min/max/average boot times for phats & slims with RGH 2.0?

(deciding whether to keep my brand-new Jasper or sell it and buy a slim - depends entirely on RGH 2.0 boot times)

i think this is a bit misleading sure if you bought or made a cheaper rgh without all the pinouts to the xc2c64a that might be needed or the correct vaule cap/wire lenth for the best boot time to begin with i can see how a new jed 2.0 file might not work at all

but still coolrunner and other xc2c64a rgh mods all use the same hardware so what can be removed added on a coolrunner can be added removed to another aslong as you can already match the coolrunner tweeks with ur diy cpld or cheaper rgh

then again if this was just about the so called Corona ready rgh i can fully understand why that hardware wouldnt work at all i dont think the team behide it knows how it works themselfs lol

ur no cut for CE same as cygnos is also just so you can switch nands having rgh onboard doesnt make the CE no cut a 1st just because cygnos hasnt got rgh onboard what does rgh have to do with CE dual nand

2nd. cygnos has the switch on the usb board if you are using the sync button to switch then ur still using a switch! lol

so yh you could word it as ur the 1st to include both on one pcb but isnt it a addon connected over ribbon cable anyway?

also can i ask does urs reset southbridge after switching nands like cygnos ive had a quick look and to me it doesnt maybe thats why you say the psu needs to be pulled in some cases...

1- Reset of southbridge is made by software... you can switch the NANDS without UNPLUG the power...
2- The UNPLUG is necessary (at the moment) only when you need to READ/FLASH the nands with the programmers... (a procedure that you do I think 2 times every months when is necessary to change the FW inside the NANDS) ... This is also a momentary issue that is already solved... an update will be released in few days.
3- The FCC cable is necessary ONLY when you want to UPDATE the SQUIRT FIRMWARE (JTAG) or the NANDs contents (SPI)... is not necessary at all to keep connected the PROGRAMMER... (I remember that TRIDENT etc need also a programmer)

about previous posts:

1- Cygnos is out of production since years! so you are talking about something that NO BODY can find anymore (or better maybe they can find it in some RARE shops for a HIGH price)
2- Cygnos cost about 4 times a SQUIRT
3- Cygnos need to install a really bad PCB outside the console when is 100% unnecessary... but if people want a BIG BLACK PCB with a switch that is like a 30 years old switch... is not a problem..

- A cheaper NAND PCB easy to installed

you may think im a big cygnos fanboy but if you look on there site ur see im not that much of a fan as i find the gui and fw buggy as well as the hardware with no updates now that they shut shop

my point really is the only thing with ur hardware that is new is ur using the rgh to control the nand ce switch with the sync button instead of a extanal! if you had a on screen bootloader to select each nand that would wow me using a custom jed for sync button doesnt

i do need somthing new soon to replace my cygnos but from the looks of it you cant offer me dual nand only for 20 as its a addon needing ur rgh board ect

unless u are selling the rgh board+programer+dualnand (with no cut needed addon) all for 20 i may aswell wait for demon thou im sure i could copy ur install to use the dual nand on any rgh chip (use ur jed on any rgh with a wire install to sync and dual nand instead of ribbon connector)

i have to agree with your pov. this squirt guy sought out to hijack a real newsworthy thread with some of his less than fortunate and perhaps now outdated hardware solution, probably upset many vendors will be stuck with their product perhaps.

SMC loaded up to the southbridge from nand as soon as the power plug is plugged in. Switching nand does not reset SMC, how does your software reset southbridge?

i dont think he will give you a stright answer most likely its the same reason he know its cornoa ready coz hes lucky like that?

i took a quick peek at the install and couldnt see any wiring that would show its able to clear smc i understand how they could use the code for the 10k ce pullup but how it could reset s/b i havnt got a clue! plus to me the dual nand side just looks like a diy or cygnos v1 with the 10k resistor minus the cut track that would normaly make problems witch by the way they say it does happen atleast with the 1.0 design they say "you can cut the track to slove this"LOL. so is it just 2 nands connected to ce at the same time with a jed using the 10k for timing trying to get the correct one to boot?

anyway the demon has a nice ic hopefully looks like its going to have impoved fw over cygnos when can i preorder? :-)

this has been documented for a while. you apply a GND the SMC point and it will allow you to change the NAND device. I read about it while looking to do the sandwitch NAND mod. Its nothing new and works great, in theory you could connect 100 NAND chips this way.

yep ive read everyone with cheap diys basiacly the same thing as that are using j2c3.5 to ground with the jed for sync switch only i dont see it using j2c3.5..

1- RESET SMC: maybe you don't realize that the FIRMWARE is out since 4 days, online and ready to be dowloaded and installed in a SQUIRT GREEN PCB (go to www.squirt360.com download area)... there are already several customers that tried it with success... 3rd party tutorials on the way...
Procedure is: POWER ON WITH SYNC >> ORIGINAL... turn off console with POWER BUTTON, turn on it again with power button only >> RGH enabled and secondary NAND enabled...
This mean we are handle a PERFECT NAND SWITCH without UNPLUG the power and without CUT the TRACK... din't you believe? Buy a squirt, download firmware and try or watch our video ! more I cannot write you ...

2- CORONA: A xilinx IC + maybe one or two more wires + 48Mhz OSC is all what you need to do a fucking CORONA RGH... the problem is not the HARDWARE but the SOFTWARE... we are working on that, we hope only to reach the target for firsts... BUT REMEMBER... RGH ON CORONA will be DONE on a XILINX + 48OSC on board ONLY ... nothing more.
Then If you want to use a NASA CHIP are your business ...

switching nand does not mean reset of SMC. you have failed to explain how does your chip/firmware reset SMC.

I repeat, buy a squirt and analyze it ... sure we cannot explain here more about our method...

i'll be buying a demon as like my current cygnosv2 its the most advanced with the ic fw able to program without the need of spi etc but ive also checked other cheaper dual nand chips like matrix witch isnt bad and has the j2c3.5 to reset smc

so how about you explain how ur chip can reset smc with no extra wiring other then the normal rgh points and the normal nand points without anything extra going to j2c3.5 or make a video of 2 nands with 2 different macs swaping macs without a unplug not just switching nands

what you are selling squrit has been about on the DO IT YOURSELF scene for awhile dunno who made the jed you or them but take any current cheap rgh chip connect it to any 2nd nand with 10k like cygnosv1 or a xd card cost is £4 then add the wires for the sync button switch and ur just about done apart from they reset the smc aswell using j2c3.5

Discussion with these infectus/argon/squirt fellas is pointless. They have too much of an attitude and too less of a marketshare. Their ways of convincing are often rude and loud. Also don't expect any indepth tech info from this guy as it looks like this is oscar from hardstore who is just their marketing guy trying to push their product. Anyway while their team have made some good developments in the past it was often buggy with countless firmware revisions and stolen code.
