Hey, I have a Trinity Slim my little Bro updated without my permission. Bought my Coolrunner and while its shipping he logged online and updated for a Red Dead Redemption update. My console is at 14719 now, but I figured I could grab the nand via LPT since I'm broke. well... It doesn't seem that simple. Soldered the points according to 2 diagrams, and no matter what (on both my 64bit win7 or older xp machine)It will not find the device.

Pic I used: http://img32.imageshack.us/img32/5686/lptslim.png

Pictures of my quite poor work, but in theory should make connection:

Help?

What's the length of your cable? You may want to shorten your wiring, and I would highly recommend soldering your ground wire to a gator clip if your going to be soldering and resoldering.

My wires are less then a foot, about 6 inches. Thats a good idea. Ive been told that I don't need the diode, that i need the diode, ect. Is the diode needed?

What about this:

Personally, I have better results with the diode (11 => J2C1.4, of course), and make sure the direction is correct before soldering.

Ive been told that that diagram was way over the top with components. It also reminds me of the Xilinix Cable for flashing the coolrunner

Thank you, Along with Jlong30. I soldered the diode to the pin and it found it right off the get go.
