I’m in the market for a new Xbox 360 because mine just died of the wretched red ring of death.
Is it true that Xbox 360 manufactured after August 2011 can’t be modified???!!!
Slim models before that can only be Jtag’ed so the games can be played only off the HD without the disc in the DVD drive? Does that sound right?
Should I buy a refurbished Phat or Slim? Which is “better”?
When I buy a refurbished Xbox 360, what’re some recommendations?
What should I be looking for?

try and get your hands on a 4gb slim

it will have a moddable drive in it for sure

you will have to do the kamikaze hardware unlock though

if this is to daunting, look out for a falcon or jasper phat model, more reliable and easy peasy to flash no hardware unlocks required.

Before I buy a refurbished Xbox 360, is there a way to see the manufacture date?
Where is the manufacture date sticker located?
