I've been trying to do research on performing the reset glitch hack, and if I want to build my own LPT programmer (very simple?), then all I need to purchase is a Coolrunner dev board, right?

I'm looking at all of these different tutorials saying you need to buy a Nand-X, USB SPI programmer, etc, etc.

However, I have an older PC with an LPT port and it seems simple enough to solder together a DB25 cable so am I missing something here?

Also, is there Team Executer Coolrunner Rev. B the best RGH board? (same price as the Digilent version and I don't have to remove/bridge those two resistors)

in addition to the coolrunner and a cable to program the coolrunner, you will need a method to read/write the nand .. but you can build an LPT cable for that, too.

the t-x coolrunner is a good value; the digilent c-mod is bigger and requires additional components.
